well no one actually but it did my old heart good to see that others could. Growing up with all the prejudice of 30+ years ago the thought of one day commiting to the person I love was a dream I never expected to come true. I was at work with the gentleman I am providing care for when the news showed many same sex couples professing their love and kissing. I was smiling, my head was shaking in the affirmative and a tear rolled down my cheek. He did not speak to me much after that but I felt like the tide is turning. Old prejudices are dying.

I may never get married but one day hopefully in the not too distant future the love between two adult people regardless of genders will be able to celebrate their love and the benefits of marriage. I cheer for everyone who was married today in California. I wish them much happiness and long lives together. May more states join in and respect the love between two people and may those trying to overturn that right learn to live and let live.

There was an already landmark event in Massachusets but this one, without the residency restrictions, is perhaps more significant. Massachusets did not spontaneously combust, the union did not dissolve, and the Red Sox still won the Series. Again. Dammit.

From other lists, I know way too many kneejerk conservative (self-hating) gay men who will reap the benefits and who would never ever thank any transgendered, crossdressing, effeminate men or any women at all for all the work and sacrifices they made to make this happen.

So on their behalf, and on the behalf of all the gay men and lesbians and bi folks of all genders and no gender, I thank all the queers, fags, dykes, bitches and even hetero men and women who made this happen.

It's small comfort after losing Christina and Mismatched, but these days, comfort is hard to find. I'll take it.🙏
