THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU KEN SD!

At last, after many YEARS of suffering the scorn and distain of people around me who always laughed at me, I am vindicated by science! People laugh at me because I am a "banana buffer," yes, I admit it. I spend much of my day buffing my banana, now I need not be ashamed of that any more.

Yoli here...

I DO love 'nanners, but I'll bet all or most of my friends and lovers here are unaware of a certain "taboo" observed by most serious bassfisherpersons.

Most believe that having bananas (banani-plural?) in a true bassboat will jinx the trip.

For the unaware, this is a TRUE bassboat:

"Riding on the pad @ 76MPH"

http://www.basscat.com/images/Wallpaper/Puma1280.jpg

Our boat has a different color scheme, though.

Some, before each tournament launch, will inspect every storage compartment on the boat (and there are many to inspect) and tackle bag to assure that NO bananas are on board. Some even go so far as to hide bananas on other bassers' boat in a joking attempt to "hex" them.

For my part, since I find bananas to be a tasty and convenient snack during a long day of fishing, and one that leaves only a biodegradable wrapper behind, I usually tote them along. If my partner for the trip expresses concern re the "curse" I simply tell them that if they don't like it they can stay on the shore.

Being a female (luckily?) helps during these disputes, rare though they are, and the fact that I am providing a 21' deluxe bassboat (avec 250HP motor, by golly, tow vehicle, and bassin' expertise are determining factors as well.

That said...PLEASE! NO KUMQUATS ON MY BOAT!:D

Yoli The Bassin' Babe

AKA That Crazy Girl in San Antonio.

PS: MY superstition: When I take another female along, she may wear shorts, a swimsuit (however brief), even be naked, as some are when away from prying eyes...even tanning, y'see...but I forbid other girls to wear skirts on board. For some reason I consider them a jinx...go figure!🙄

Y.
