vBulletin Upgrade

Post by BossTamsin (imported) »

An upgrade of the vBulletin system has just been performed. Please let me know if you notice any problems or issues.

Also upgraded were the blogs, so if there are problems with those, let me know as well.

On second thought, can someone, anyone reply to this post to let me know the system is working so I can go to bed?

I see only one minute flaw, though over all, the new format LOOKS GREAT.

The flaw: When I check on the blue button over the Message section, where it says Friends, it gives me the message: "your friends List is empty." But if I go to the column on the right side of the page where it says Edit Friends List and click on it, it shows over a dozen friends with their avatars.

So I ask the great archivist: (1) was that a goof on your part or (2) Am I not doing something I should be doing? If it's the latter, please tell me.

Lurker: yes we can hear you though at our age we are a bit deaf.

On the main screen it's not showing/listing any new stories anymore. There was some earlier today (after the post about the upgrade). Maybe something happened when new stories were posted tonight?

No, the stories feed is something completely separate from the VBulletin upgrades. Unfortunately, as it's homebrewed, there are occasional glitches that require manual intervention. There was one such glitch in the last day or two. It has now been fixed, and should display properly once again. (That is, once the refresh occurs in an hour or so after this response.)

For those of you viewing that feed on anything other than the Archive main page, the next time your RSS reader checks, there should be a proper display of the new stories.

Everything works but in Chat when I type !d9 its says I get a Sundrop soda but I've looked inside the disk drive under the keyboard and can't find the straw...

Do I just suck on the USB cord or is Sundrop Firewire?
