Hello everyone,

This morning I had a wierd dream before I woke up. I was in a post office an the post master was telling me there was something in my mail box, but I would have to pay him money before I could have my mail...

Then I woke up, got a cup of coffee and went for my morning stroll. For some reason I felt a need to go back inside and get my cell phone. While I was out on my stroll I had missed a call and someone had left a voicemail. The voicemail was bad news but actually GOOD news, still, I feel BAD about the bad side of the news. I was "fired." The "site manager" called me up to say he had sent me an e-mail telling me the same thing. Here is an edited copy of the e-mail, I changed names and put fake names in quotation marks.

Mr. Deacon Blues I regret to inform that as of May,1 2008 "Assholes Incorporated" will no longer need your Cleaning services at our Kingman Hauling Facility. This will be that final invoice that will be paid there should be no outstanding invoices April, 30 2008. I will need you drop off the keys before the end of the week. If you have any questions you can contact me at one of the numbers listed below, do not contact "Jane Doe" (at the Phoenix Office) this decision was made at the District level. Thank you for the service that you have provided "Assholes Incorporated."

Thank You

A.S.Shole / DM

Now, I have been cleaning those offices for five years now, at $50 per weekend cleaning. Not a single complaint from "Assholes Incorporated" and actually very little communication at all. This termination comes as a surprise, and a bit of a puzzle. But this is actually GOOD news in a way, I have HATED the job, and only kept at it for a little extra money it gave me. There were many times I had wanted quit, but figured I would just hold on, just stupid tenacity on my part.

So I am actually happy to know that my Sundays are now all mine, but still, I think getting a e-mail on 30 April telling me like this, well it is just wrong. I would never have left them high and dry without at least the traditional "two weeks notice."

Needless to say, "Assholes Incorporated" and the manager "A.S.Shole" are on my "shit-list" now.

I've lost a few jobs and felt wronged by it. Then again, you have another job and a day off to enjoy. They probably found an illegal from who knows where to clean the offices for $25 a week.

or more likely some account as figured out how to save the company a little more cash there by helping there bottom line.

Now the people in that office will be required to keep there area clean along with there other duties.

Oh and the money saved, well its going into a raise for the accountant for saving the company so much money.

Dont feel bad or fret about loosing this job, it was the only possible outcome from the day you were hired to today you have been living on borrowed time.

For many years I worked as a contractor and I alway felt the first day on the job was one day closer to not having one at all. I would always call my agent and have him start looking for the next one.
