The Urge

At times I am overwhelmed with the urge to be castrated. I think about how much I would like to live without a sex drive.. These urges last for months, but then fade, and then I am actually embarrassed to have such thoughts. For this reason I have never gone forward with castration, since I know that the thoughts or compulsion is not permanent. Has anyone else felt like this? Have any of the eunuchs on here had this experience prior to their castration ?

You sound like a good candidate for CHEMICAL castration. If you don't like it, you quit taking the drugs. You may be plagued by an obsessive compulsive disorder that could be helped by an SSRI but either way DO NOT go getting your balls cut off without doing chemical castration first. Especially if you are aroused in any way by the thought of the actual act.

Yes, you are very much the type that needs to be on chemical castration for a few years and not just months like some do. You need a long true life test on the effects to your mind and body. I am anything but an expert on compulsive areas. But as Ramses well pointed out you seem to have obsessive compulsive disorder. That does need to have some outside help to address it.

Thanks... I agree that chemical castration is the best route for me

I was recently, chemically, castrated because of a medical condition. I found that chemical castration did not really take effect for about 3 weeks. During the period after the 3 weeks was up I still was able to attain orgasm which in some ways was better than before. I have since done a radical orchiectomy (physical castration) and found that they are not the same. Chemical vs. physical castration may differ from person to person but as far as I'm concerned physical put the period at the end of the sentence, so to speak.

You would have gotten about the same results if you were castrated and not doing the chemicals. It is not an instead effects with the drugs. It takes several weeks for it to fully set in just like when you are castrated. You body has hormones in your blood already. The drugs stop the testicles from making more hormones but do not destroy what is already made. Does take a while for the hormones to leave the body. You can not compare your experience of chemical castration with physical castration for you were not on the drugs long enough to experience the full effect.
I do wish you well and a fast recovery from your surgery. You should be experience changes for a good long time. Your path as an eunuch has just started.

Milkman,
Out of curiosity, do you also experience quite dramatic changes in your sex drive? And when it is at its peak do you find yourself obsessed about castration? If so, I might have some insight for you... I am intimately familiar with this problem.

Please tell us more Guy. Milkman isn't the only one interested in hearing what you have to say on this. I also have periods of high sex drive and my interest in castration seems to go hand in hand with my sex drive.

Having drastic changes in your sex drive that are not hormonal and persist for long periods of time, typically anywhere from weeks to months, is one symptom of mania. How one expresses mania tends to vary greatly from person to person. And it also depends on the degree of mania. Hypersexuality is one way it can be expressed, but typically not the only way.
I have had problems with periods of hypersexuality ever since I entered puberty. I didn't understand the problem in the slightest until I was diagnosed with bipolar type II nearly 3 years ago or 10 years after puberty. It sucks, but there isn't too much that I'm willing to do at this point given my circumstances. Right now I just deal with it as best as I can when it comes along.
If you have periods of hypersexuality and a lot of chaos in your life that tends to come and go, then you might want to look into the possibility that you might be bipolar. If you have it, castration is probably one of the worst ideas to go through with.
I'm more than willing to answer any questions--personal or general.

Milkman,
I think your overwhelming urge/desire to be castrated is very similar to what I went through. Over a period of several years I had extremely strong urges to be castrated and even attempted it several times on my own, but was never able to fully go through with it out of fear. Eventually my fears grew less or my desire to be castrated got stronger and took over. I eventually was able to have one testicle removed and then because my remaining testicle was so abused, I had Dr. Kimmel remove it. I became a true eunuch in March 2006. I remember him specifically saying this when he saw my remaining testicle, "This does not look good, it's good you had it removed, it would have caused you problems down the road." So my overwhelming desire to be castrated eventually led me to be castrated, which seems to be the way it goes for a lot of eunuchs. You will probably become a full fledged eunuch one day, which is not a bad thing. It seems that that's our destiny. Hash
