A question my psch doc brought up was the issue of phantom pain. Has anyone experienced this? I can't imagine it being worse than being kicked in the balls, but maybe it's more frequent or something. I don't know anything about it.

I had some pain that could be called phantom pain. It did not last long for me. The cords remained tender for some time but the sensation of having a ball was gone.

Mine hurt before they were taken out, since then they hurt not at all, Not even phantom. --FLO--

I do have pain in my crotch just where my testes used to be. The pain seems to be if i remember correctly similar to that i had from a vericoseal. The vain was removed or rather cut extremely high on my left side because of this. Except i have the pain right now mater of fact and its on either side, not just one..... throbbing pain, like a head ache, but down stairs.

Surely i cant be the only one.....

I had phantom pain for a while. about 4-6 months after surgery I imagine. when it came on, it did feel like being kicked in the balls. It never seemed to last more than 15-20 minutes and wasn't frequent. I haven't had any pain in quite some time.

I only had this once for several days around last Thanksgiving (oversexed done broke my scrote?) and the pain has never come back again. Also along with that the pain that used to appear when pressure was applied to my corded areas of my scrotum has disappeared since then.

Nope! Zero pain and no feeling of "loss either"

My Pain doctor made some suggestions that he said I must pass along to my surgeon.

Number one was to cut high. I had my Orchiectomys inguinal also known as Radical Orchiectomy. They make the incisions in the pubic hair region (Not the scrotum) and fish out the testicles, pulling them up the inguinal canals. Thus most of the cords connecting to the testes are removed at the same time.

Number two is to inject the cords with nerve blocks before they are cut. This numbs all the nerves so when they are cut they won't be sending pain signals for weeks to a month. And by that time they have calmed down.

This is how I had mine done and I came out with no Phantom Pains. I wrote back to the Pain Doctor thanking him and telling him it went great. *Which I think all of us who have had this procedure need to do so that they get some feedback from those who are success stories. As my Pain doc said he only hears from the people who have problems so his judgement is jaded on if Orchiectomy is a good solution.

Oops! Forgot to add that I asked to have silicone Implants (Superballs) put in and they feel very "normal" if I can use that word. Not unnatural. Although rather huge compared to my screwed up pair which is nice for my ego...
