President Bush said each one of us will get $300.00. It was originally supposed to be $800.00, but they dropped it to a $300.00 tax rebate.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline, the money will all go to the Arabs. Neither will help the American economy.

The way I see it, we need to keep that money here in America, but the only way I can see to keep that money here at home is to drink beer or to spend it on prostitution. Those are the only businesses still in the U.S.A.

Having met Jesus, somehow, I can't see him spending it on a prostitute. I guess he'll have to spend his on beer. I had to pay an extra $600 in State income tax this year, so if we're only getting $300, I'll be $300 in the hole.

Nothing in America is as simple as everybody gets $300 back. Remember this was in a bill passed by our Congress. You should be getting a letter from the IRS soon detailing all the rules and steps required to get a the tax rebate. Since the IRS is writing the document I expect it will be as hard to read as the instructions for filling out the 1040 form, so there will be several segments on the evening news telling us what the letter meant to say. It has been said that "the 150 billion dollar stimulus package is like dumping a cup of water in the ocean." Most people will apply the extra money to reduce thier credit card debt so expect little impact on our country's econmy beer or otherwise.

Another benefit to living in Texas! No state income tax, and any dumb politican wanting to start a state income tax in Texas sees his political career go down in flames.
