anemia and hypogonadism

Apparently I'm anemic, and have been for a while. Is there a link to this and hypogonadism? Why? Who? WTF? heh.. just curious. :D I'm told I'm just borderline anemic, nothing dangerous I'm told.

Breathe deeply, use 16 penny spikes for toothpicks, and you should be fine, heh.

I have no real idea if there is a link, but I would suppose if you cant get enough oxygen in your bloodstream, it would tend to affect a lot of things.

Doctors used to prescribe Anadrol, basically, a male hormone, to treat anemia. And it is known one effect athletes have who take male hormones, is it increases red blood cell count. In fact, some guys get above normal reading of RBC just by taking some Androgel. It would seem a lack of male hormones may cause things to go in the reverse direction.

I just did a bit of looking around. Yes, there are several studies reporting a distinct correlation between androgen deprivation and/or hypogonadism, and the incidence of anemia. So, Breathe even deeper, and chew on the nails, dont just use em as toothpicks.... Iron and air is the answer...

Iron intake is essential for good red blood count, too.

Of course, I know eating liver is hard...

Some other foods are:

Iron Rich Foods

Foods that are a good source of iron include:

liver

lean red meats, including beef, pork, lamb

seafood, such as oysters, clams, tuna, salmon, and shrimp, etc.

beans, including kidney, lima, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils

iron fortified whole grains, including cereals, breads, rice, and pasta

greens, including collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens

tofu

vegetables (http://pediatrics.about.com/od/nutritio ... veggie.htm), including broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts

chicken and turkey

blackstrap molasses

nuts - NO NOT THOSE NUTS!

Green text indicates foods that don't aggravate blood sugars, and that I will eat. I wont' eat liver. ;)

Mmmm.. I love greens, and I don't get enough of them. Bring on the dandelion, collard, and turnip greens! :D

Oh, also they told me that my iron looks fine... ? I must consult with my doctors about this again on Monday. I wonder if this anemia is why I can't seem to stay warm much? I'm either freezing or sweating, generally.

If you're not low on iron, then you're not making new red blood cells fast enough to replace die off. Red blood cells have a short life span, really. Time to look further.
