To me there seems to be a constant throughout this thread which shows the difference between those of us who have successfully been medically castrated and those who are still struggling to get rid of their unwanted parts. To me it looks as if all of us who have been successful, have presented to the doc with still swollen and painful nuts and those who have been unsuccessful are those who have waited till all has settled down and the swelling has abated before seeing a doc.
As I have said many times before I presented first to my own GP and had a scan ordered and then to the ER at my local hospital. As a result of these visits, I got 2 referrals to urologists. The one was a woman and the guy who actually removed mine was a man. I did try to contact the woman, but she was away on leave, so I contacted the man with my 2 sets of scans. He put them up on the light board and immediately
Another factor is that most of you who are still struggling to get the surgery pretend to be shocked if told their testicles may need removing. I was straight with my urologist when he told me they had to come out and told him that was what I wanted. He told me that he may have been able to salvage a part of the left one, but I was emphatic that I wanted them both removed totally. It actually turned out that there was a rather large granuloma on the chords of the left testicle which did not show up on the scan, which necessitated its removal anyway. My doc told me this after the surgery.
Anyway, tomorrow it will be 11 months since they were removed and I couldn't be happier with the result.
