GenChick, I did go to an ER a few days after my second injection, but from there was referred to a urologist. My ER visit was in early January this year and my testicles were removed on March 15th. They were pretty hard and had very little sensitivity. I did not see the report myself, but am going on what my urologist told me. I did have several scans of them taken and when the urologist looked at the scans on my first visit, he told me that they would have to be removed. This visit was in mid February, so my progression from first injection on December 20th last year to actual physical castration was thankfully short.

After the injection I waited a few weeks before I saw my uro. The testicle quickly got a hard spot on it. After that it was pretty quickly determined through scans that there was something odd and it needed to come out. I do have to say that the removal was rather painful for weeks. Today I still have a feeling of an intense sunburn on my thigh and my groin/penis is quite numb. They tell me it will go away and it has gotten better. I am now thinking - do I do it all over again and be rid of things, or just wait a while?

Ah the side effect of inguinal orchiectomy if the doc severs nerves near the spermatic cord. It can take years to completely heal if ever.

Keep in mind I've done two injections this year (and only this year). January and February. I was curious if I'd keep seeing an increase in testosterone or if it would stop. I found this:
For each treatment group, testosterone levels had decreased an average of 35%-70% at 6 months following treatment. However, testosterone levels rebounded by the 12-month time point in all groups except the highest dosage group (60% CaCl2), which remained at the low end of physiological range throughout the study"
Levels of serum testosterone also began to increase at T12 in groups A-C. These results point to the importance of long-term studies to gauge the effectiveness of chemical castration methods, which is critical to their use in stray dog population management programs.

I can tell you that 3 months post removal of one, that my T levels are down significantly. They were in the 500-600 range and are now half that at 200-300. Of course everyone is different and my remaining testicle has had about 5 shots of Vodka and is much smaller than it was now.

It's been a very long time since I posted on here ... but thought I would give an update on my progress since doing two injections of CCL/Vodka late in 2013. I eventually was referred to my local urology department in summer this year after complaining to my doctor that my left testicle had shrunken considerably (so had the right one but to a lesser extent ) ... I then had a scan and the first urologist I saw said my left testicle was atrophied partly due to a suspected varicous issue, and my right one was not the size it should be, and whilst my test levels were in a normal range of 300 the indications were both testicles were failing but this could be due to my medical history. However he ordered another scan. After the second scan I was seen by a different urologist (the first one had left) and he said the atrophy was due to my medical history and since there was no "shadowing" evident, "intervention" was not necessary, but just to be safe he ordered a third scan for approx 4 months time (which should be February 2015) Late November I get a letter for a scan in early December which I have managed to postpone to the w/c 15th ... so 4 months has turned in to two months!!
In the meantime I have done another two sets of CCL/Vodka injections. The last one this Sunday. My right testicle being the main target, both times it swelled nicely before shrinking back and tonight it is hugging the roof of my scrotum and is very tender to the touch. Injecting into my left nut was more problematical as it's very small and hard. The first injection failed, but this Sunday I managed to inject a little only to feel the solution travel upwards, and sure enough had some pain in my abdomen for a few hours which dissipated by the evening. However my left is now also slightly swollen.
I shall not do anymore injections before the next scan, and just hope they will show further deterioration. Whether this will lead to "intervention" remains to be seen.
It's all a question of playing the game!

If you've read the thread, you know that I was castrated in August by my urologist after I injected both of my testicles with CaCl. If you want to see the doctor's report on my castration and the pathologist's report detailing the damage done to my testicles, I posted them on my tribe.net site here:
http://people.tribe.net/bbeb619e-e39c-4 ... 9f4/photos
Both testicles shrunk to around 20% of their original size. One was completely dead, and the other was 90% dead. I had to talk my doctor into castrating me, but after he got the pathologist's report back, he told me that we definitely made the right decision.

I suspect there is some recovery over a period of time. The amount of recovery probably varies by individual and dosage used. For some individuals, it might be necessary to do an injection every couple of years to maintain a given T level.
I'm also curious about the long term experiences of members of the forum that have tried this. I'm wondering about things like at what point did your T level feel the lowest? And how long before maximum atrophy occurred? How many have experienced a partial recovery of T?

You're at 2-300 with one partial nut?
More evidence there's something wrong with mine. Both of them together only manage to match your damaged one.
