It started snowing right after midnight, its still snowing at 4:30pm, I have a bird bath in my front yard, 😄 it has about a foot of snow in it, its this big mound of snow working its self into a cone.

Nelly, my dog who is a rat terrier and stands about 9" at the shoulder had to go out, when she stepped off the step into the snow she vanished, the snow was above her head, she worked herself around and back on the porch on off into the flower bed, again only her nose above the snow, back on the step, she then watches me laughing at her and decides to pee on the porch.

OK I did go out and shovel some snow so she will have a place to go.

It's going to go down to +22F tomorrow night.

I picked the last of my lettuce and cauliflower from the garden today.

I watered and cared for that stuff all summer long, and I'm picking heads in December?!

I have mustard greens growing EVERYWHERE, too.

There are dandelions blooming and other small flowers as well.

I've got 50 degrees and rain -

45 low tonight and rain - up to an inch of rain.

57 high tomorrow and rain

Tuesday rain and they say snow but the ground isn't frozen so it won't stay around. also high predicted to be 38...

Wednesday sunny (first time since last Wednesday)

Winter ain't coming until the ground freezes. Not around here at least.

I read today that El Nino won't happen until late Winter or early Spring.

Everybody around here is delighted with the snow, its been a long time coming. We got and its still snowing a little but about a foot I am going to guess. It was a study hard snow not blizzard but just a hard snow for about 20 hours.

Glad you're delighted. Here in NJ, people rush the stores for supplies if 1-2 inches of snow is forecast. It's an emergency. We're spoiled, because there hasn't been a major snow here for several years.

I lived in Vermont when I was in my mid-twenties, and we had very long, very cold winters. Once it snowed every day for an entire month. They couldn't clear any but the main streets, so they'd let cars press the snow on the side streets into ice sheets. There was an ice ledge about 6" tall separating main from side streets. It was very hard. I couldn't live there now. More than once I had to push through hip-deep snow. I fell a couple times every winter. I told my parents in NY they lived in the tropics.

A-1, your inbox has been full for days now. I suppose that's deliberate. If it were possible, I'd answer your question.

That goes in the re-opened demand to be noticed thread. 🙄

We are in the dry cycle, Santa Ana winds, waiting for the next wet cycle due Thursday.

Surrounding areas have received rain, I have only gotten a quarter of an inch.

It is really a lovely Autumn.
