In the area of my residence not only do you have to shovel snow you have to occasionally shovel May Flies (Fish Flies, Willow Flies) off sidewalks and snow plow them off bridges. --FLO--

Given the choice I would much rather shovel snow then navigate the rain.
I remember my days being a scout leader, we camped in the snow looked forward to it, but RAIN, canx.

IE, Seriously?
I can't even function at 25F!
The temperature of my "room/office" at home seldom goes below 80F, and I still have flannel PJ pants and a hoodie on.

So... we got Snow, lots of it. With blizzard and special effects

.
It was about 10-15 cm at least. Probably much more.
And we got a mother of all traffic jams. Uncleaned roads = lots of traffic accidents.
Yandex maps claimed that jam severity was 10/10 and suggested, that going on foot would be faster.

That was at 17:50. By now, the roads are still not cleaned. Well, in Russia, winter always comes suddenly

Honest, hand to God, the window is open right now, and the big box fan is sitting in it. The temp outside is 47f. The temp inside... 70f. It's still a little warm for me, but then I've got that insulation going on.
(Note, I run three computers, three monitors, a TV, two UPS, a mini-fridge, and myself in this room. That is what is providing the heat.)

Finally, its December 9th or will be in an hour or so and finally were going to get snow, yes SNOW about 8 inches due tonight and tomorrow, which means we will get about 2" sigh, normally we have our first snow in October.
I love the first snow, everything is clean and white, but give it a day with snow plows and dogs it will be yellow and brown by Monday afternoon.
Special note for IEunuch, its going to be down in the low 20's thats -3 to -4C. just what you live for.

The first snow is a wonderland of white.
But, I love the morning after an Ice Storm. Freezing Rain.
Crystalline diamond icicles handing off the houses, power lines, tree branches
while the ground is carpeted in fresh white snow.
60's. Crisp. Clean. Moisture in the air from unsuccessful rain attempts. Foggy, foggy nights.

There is no "universal warming" going on. It is all a variation of normal. What is wrong with you people? Are you trying to get into a "UNIVERSAL" survivalist mode for 12-21-2012? Or, perhaps a "SOLAR SYSTEMIC" survivalist mode?
Don't you know that the Andromeda Galaxy is winking at us? Instead of the weather watch the stars for signs...of...of Armageddon and the Mayan breakdown.
That's not for another 100 years yet or until 12-21-2112, anyway. People just cannot do math or have a sense of numerology, repetition and number recognition.
In the mean-time let us bring back Y2k...
If that doesn't work do exercises in recursion such as the Towers of Hanoi (
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~cburch/survey/recurse/hanoi.html). Try it with an infinite number of disks.
