I got hit hard all the way over here in Cleveland, OH. Power is out to almost 1/3 of Cuyahoga County, schools were closed, lots of government services are closed, power lines are down everywhere, friends in Lakewood are all reporting that they saw transformers blowing up everywhere, and my power went out shortly after my last post, and is still out after 2 days. I'm at the library in Parma right now, which thankfully still has internet access, but anyway, that's my status update. A whopping 500 miles from Sandy's landfall site, we still got hammered.

It's now been raining for 4 days straight, and is still coming down in buckets as I speak. Fortunately, the wind is finally dying down, but it's still a mess here.

Here's some pictures of the aftermath of Sandy:

And Christie

but its not true, the helicopter did not lean to one side because of Christie's weight and its not true, Christie is not full of it, that is fat.

See links above.

From the pictures you would thing they were old friends.

ONLY DOWN SIDE, Christie needs to loose some pounds.

Many people are still really suffering - no heat, hot water, food, gas; their homes are destroyed - yet help has yet to reach them. The Red Cross is on the scene giving out cookies instead of blankets. The best comparison is Katrina.

A large group of utility workers drove all the way from Alabama to help restore power in New York and New Jersey. They were forced to leave! Union members screamed at them that they were scabs. Now you know why the people in Connecticut have begun throwing eggs at local utility workers.

There's another thread about how all this will affect the election. Think about it.

My question. Who is paying the bill? Southern California Edison customers via coerced "charity"?

We are already paying the bill for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries fucking up a major service of San Onofre Nuc Power.

Their servicing did not last five years before corrosion forced a shut down and we pay a surcharge for replacement power.

😠

So much to the extended suffering from Sandy seems needless.

We need only mobilize the military. Marines first, then the Army.

That is one part of disaster relief China employs superior to 🇺🇸

In the case of Southern California Edison, we can only be grateful to have resources subtracted from that hell hole. Civilization will benefit. Southern California receives foreign aid from Upper Volta and Chad.

Re the military - the National Guard has to be called out by a governor. The regional governors have not done so. Ask them why.
