Three months post orchiectomy

Well, first of all, doing great overall! Very pleased, no pain of any type, fun to touch.

Physically: I still have two tiny "suture granulomas," one on each end of the surgical wound. If the scrotal skin weren't slightly puckered (there are three layers of skin inside your scrotum, I think, and I sort of think mine were all sewn together, because as it's healed that area of scrotal skin is *attached* to something deeper inside) you wouldn't be able to tell there's a scar. The granulomas are much smaller now, don't leak fluid constantly, but at the end of the day there is a little sticky pus built up on them. Suuuuper gross but much better. I would have already had them knocked off surgically but since I'm planning to remove the whole thing it doesn't make sense.

Skin sort of hangs most of the time. Putting a lot of obsessive energy into trying to source a doc for orchiectomy. I know Dr Arnkoff is there for me and I may end up back with him, but if I can find a local source it would be cheaper (???) I think. Also not sure if the granulomas were just an expected/normal quirk or evidence that the scar/suture technique is just not great. If anyone knows someone who has had scrotectomy with Dr A and can source a picture, I'd really like to know!

The cord stumps can still be felt but they're the normal size now. Were the size of small oranges before, then the size of testicles, then like a knot had been tied in a thick piece of rope. Now it just feels like the cord... ends. The right one is a little longer and pointy, like a (dull) crayon tip. No big deal. Can definitely tell they're shrinking, have to dig around in loose scrotal skin to find them to palpitate.

I can still get erections, though they are pretty soft and probably not hard enough for penetration. Penis gets harder sort of at the end. Probably somewhat less ejaculate, it's still milky but runnier. I was expecting some penis shrinkage/shortening when walking around in flaccid mode, but I haven't noticed any changes.

Mentally: I feel super. Maybe the best I've been in a long time. I don't have much libido. I never had tons, and I still notice lovely young ladies, for sure. But I think I rubbed one out maybe.... two weeks ago? I'm probably due but I don't have some big drive to do it. Cool if I get some time and remember it, but I'm alright with waiting another few days? A week?

I've talked several times with a therapist who specializes in gender issues and have found that to be a great experience. They were ready to validate and support my plan to move more toward androgynous or fluid gender, while retaining my male outward identity. I'm sure others' experience may vary, but this is a great support and valuable resource. A lot depends on your mental health overall (I don't have any other issues, no history of mental illness, am high functioning, etc) and the match of the therapist, which I DID have to work to find someone I thought would be right for me.

So my GP was game to talk with me about estrogen rather than testosterone. Progressive thinker and all but really unprepared clinically to handle my questions, so I suggested using a third party. She was very supportive of referring me out and coordinating rather than directing this. Found and got in quickly with an endo who does a lot of trans care. So in the time since my last update I've started estrogen (a very low dose) and that's cool! I don't know the blood details, but it's been over a month with no test and I've had no bad fatigue or facial flushing or anything. No body changes to speak of, no extra sensitivity in nipples, etc, so if it's possible after checking my blood levels to verify I've got basic bone health taken care of, this might not be a bad dose for me! I sort of think I'll have to go up a little in dose if I'm responding how the literature suggests I will in terms of blood levels... suspect I'm low/post menopausal woman level, and I'm too young to go to that level now and get soft bones

Misc:

1. I had coffee with a friend a few days ago who I had not seen in three weeks. They have no idea of my surgical or medical changes. They asked what I was taking because "you look younger today."

2. I can sleep differently. Very noticeable to sleep and sit with my legs together. Feels great, and all sorts of positions are now available.

Hey, thanks for the awesome update. Curious, does your wife know about the estrogen? Do you miss penetrative sex? How's your libido without testosterone?

I'd love to see a final "after" pic to compare with your first ones. You've been amazingly informative. I'm so thankful you shared your journey with us!

Welcome, O Nutless One!

It's not for everyone, but it seems those who have considered carefully, have been happy. Certainly so here.

Many may also be amazed that one be a happy eunuch. A doc I visited was most concerned for my spiritual well-being, on learning that I had no nuts. She could not understand that I feel very good about it now.

Just a stupid question on the procedure : does Arnkoff restrain the patients legs during procedure ? In an outpatient setting, where the person is not sedated, they might move their legs at the wrong time , no ?

My legs weren't constrained during the procedure.
