Uncle Flo (imported) wrote: Sat Nov 03, 2012 4:27 pm I am not a railroad expert but I was trained in steam power engineering. The engine does not care, within reason, where the steam comes from, but boilers are very fuel specific. The temperature, specific heat, air flow and clinker/ash requirements are very different for different types of fuel. Most boilers will only operate with the fuel they were designed for. As an example a boiler designed for wood would quickly burn out the grate and firebox if fired with coal and a coal burner would not have a large enough firebox to burn wood. The size of boiler tubes and water capacity would also be problematic. And that is only the start of the differences. --FLO--

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

This is surprisingly good news. At least it means I can take one of the complaints against the show off my list. True, that still leaves a lot of others, but even one less is a good thing.

Episodes 2 and more so 3 and 4 were 15 minutes in a one hour program.

( )0( ) #4 picked up and similar to "Lost" it is filling in the back ground of the various players.

The nasty Black militia leader was a meek, repressed person before the blackout.

His wife is a babe and his son has a mind of his own on right/wrong.

Give tonight a chance unless your dance card is full.

Then diss the most recent episode from an experienced point of view. Not like a Republican. 😄

Darn Moi I don't think I will be able to watch it tonight, I think I will be washing my hair.

River <------ for those that know me, and for those that don't I keep what little hair I have clipped real short, but I am mostly bald on top.

Sorry Moi,

Tonite they promise to tell why/how the electricity went off.

I favor too many Prius like cars broadcasting synchronous, random and finally

anti-synchronous EMF's that just leveled out the EMF Universe. With a little help from the military.

Soon I will know and I will share for all who missed it. Or will I? 🙄

I rarely watch TV dramas and I haven't seen this one, but I enjoy reading the snide comments. There is something a little funny about the absolutely negative comments and the fact that this thread is approaching 100 posts. As bad as it is, there seems a lot of people watching breathlessly. Perhaps the stupidity enchants?

River,

There are only 3 episodes left.

And the last two have been getting better.

I would rate the last 2 episodes as a 3+ on a scale of 5 where

Episode 2 & 3 were 1.5 on the same scale.

The geek turned on the light house. They know they can maybe, turn on the E'tricity.

They still have not explained the physics of it all.

But, it was military research. Thanks River. ;)

Does anyone else care to fess up they experienced this episode?
