Later, in 1974, Dan O'Banion put out DARK STAR which is a very funny satire grade B movie. It is worth a look see if you ever find a DVD of it.
"Teach it Phenomenology" is one of the great lines of the cinema.

I once met Harlan Ellison at his house. He was to be the guest speaker at the Sci-Fi Con my group was sponsering.
For a little guy, he had a HUGE ego. heh heh
His ego is the size of the Universe.

Lost Continent 1951 was one of my favorite movies to watch when I was young. Starring Ceasar Romero, it's about a group of scientists traveling to a remote island to retrieve the payload from a rocket which lasted atop a mountain. The dinosaurs around the rocket are nicely done
I thought Claude Rains was Prof. Challenger in that one.

You were close. Claude Rains was in the 1960 movie, The Lost World, about scientists in the Amazon. This one was good as well.

Few here besides besides River and A-1 would remember the old time actor, Morris Ankrum, who more often than not, played generals in such Science Fiction classics:
From the Earth to the Moon
Giant From the Unknown
Beginning of the End
Kronos
Earth v. the Flying Saucers
Invaders From Mars
Red Planet Mars
Flight to Mars
Rocketship-XM
As I recall, River was there to aid Jules Verne in writing his classics.

OMIGOD I''m flogging myself for forgetting:
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians with Pia Zadora.
It's right up there with any movie starring Rula Lenska.
