Kangan,
My left cord is still the size of a very large grape or a small testicle. My right cord is about the size of a grape still.
I know I said this before... but I am not AT ALL happy with the amount of recovery time that this has taken. We are at day #58 and I am still not closed up completely and the swelling in the cords is still there.

That totally sucks rubber donkey lungs. It certainly appears that Dr. Kimmel needs to consider retirement.
Let us hope the healing process starts to move along a bit faster. You might try taking 100 mg or so of zinc daily. When I was piercing, we suggested zinc for slow healers. Also, you might want to mix some tea tree oil in a new jar of petroleum jelly to help keep the open area more or less sterile. Tea tree oil, as a natural product is sometimes better than an antibiotic.
Good luck,
Speed

Oh well, for now, the main reason I am posted today is to wish you all a Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday (if you don't celebrate Christmas)

Please see a real doctor. Try calling the local Universities that teach Urology and get into see one asap.
Merry Christmas!

I have an appointment on December 30 at UPMC Presbyterian Urology Department for a 2nd opinion on this. We will see what they have to say.

My scrotum is finally starting to heal properly. I do have a large crevice down the middle, but it is slowly filling in (or leveling out). I guess I was lucky! I am so saddened by all the problems that you are having....
I haven't heard back from Helsinki who was scheduled for surgery by Dr. Kimmel some time in December. I hope he is okay....

He got screwed up by kimmel as well. Apparently, according to a PM I received from a 3rd party, he was in the hospital from an infection that he figures was from nonsterile o.r. evironment. This has not been verified yet. I will let you know when I get verification...

I don't know if this is indicative of anything in particular. I acquired a nasty, persistant infection from a sterile environment in a reputable hospital. As my doctor says: "The bugs are getting smarter." --FLO--

Ashley,
I feel for you. Others have also taken a long while to heal. I don't understand why? I guess I'm lucky to seem to heal easily - totally healed and recovered 3 weeks following removal of testicles through sac. I was lucky to have had 2 incisions of only ~2cm ea.

Makes sense for removals if someone is going to transition or never wants replacements. In my first surgery (and also in the probabable upcoming 2nd surgery) the intent was to remove the epididimus and replace the testicle, although I received the usual disclaimers.....no guarantees. Unfortunately after the surgery the testicle feels as if it is attached to the inner wall of the scrotum, doesn't move around normal, and the upper canal is scarred and closed shut so it won't "ride up". I just hate it, which is why I am so reluctant to go through with a second surgery, and wouldn't, except for the recurring chronic pain.
My second fear, besides surgery again, is that the results from the 2nd surgery will be similar to the first result, and then I will double hate what has been done to me and will be ultimately driven to seek removal.........but my third fear is that finally free from recurring pain, nobody will approve what will be looked upon as a "cosmetic" removal. A real debacle.
As a personal choice, should I eventually put into the position of wanting to get them removed I would opt for non-scrotum removal, especially should I get replacements at the same time, or just in case I would want and get replacements in the future. I'm getting very anxious about what the future holds.

Hole is FINALLY closed. Now, I have a nasty looking indention in my scrotum. Granted, eventually, I am CONSIDERING going though the second procedure... but right now, I am not sure.
It took 2.5 months for my incision to heal... That's insane.
