I spent one night reading this whole thread as well. I hope you still keep posting on this thread Mac as it's become an interesting diary of what's going on in your life. I'm so sorry your mother is so unwell and I've felt so bad when the money has been so tight and unexpected costs keep appearing (I know the feeling!). It made me wish I was super-rich so I could send you money just to make your life that little bit more happier and comfortable. I'm not rich though...
I also wanted to say that I think you've done a wonderful job looking after your mother. It must be so hard to look after someone with dementia problems. I don't think I would have the patience to do it myself. If you were living here you would at least be getting income for being a caregiver. I'm not sure what the United States welfare system is like, but it doesn't sound like the money is going where it's needed.

THANKS joanne-F and Lurker.
This day could have been better...or worse. Time-Warner cable was supposed to be out here somewhere between 8:00am and noon to install my Roadrunner High Speed. I waited till 12:10pm to call and bitch.
The nice man on the phone said the crew showed up and knocked and then called me and let it ring 12 times and no answer. I informed the Time Warmer rep "I was awake from 7:30am to Noon and nobody showed up nor did the phone ring once." I told him either his men called the wrong number or were fracking liars.
I had the front door all morning and nobody came knocking. Theoritically it is reschedueled for tomorrow between 8:00am and noon.
I hope their after installation service is better than their pre-installation service has been so far.
Well, I'm off to the grocery store. Ground beef, my main staple, is on sale for 6 pounds for $7.00. At that price I don't care if it's moose, squirrel or Natasha

I tried to sell my meatloaf recipe to a few cookbook companies but the only positive response came from the Bio-Weapons Division of the U.S. Defense Department.
I think they might want to dump it on Iran in general or on Jebbie Jeb in particular.

For my lunch-dinner I had fried fish and meatloaf. No Bobbie, it wasn't my meatloaf. It was provided a group called Meals on Wheels.
The Cable guy made it here by 4:00pm but wasn't prepared to string a new line to the telephone pole. He said the other Cable guy should have done it. He left and just called me saying he'd be back later with his supervisor to see what needs to be done.
I'll just sit here and twiddle my three thumbs awaiting their return. Yes, we aliens have three thumbs.

It was Comcast years ago but local office changed to Time_Warner. Cable guys just left. I now have high speed internet
Tomorrow I get to call Verizon and tell them I'll keep them as my phone company but they have back their fracking internet. I'd say fu*king but the Red Nun might read this and I wouldn't want to offend her innocent ears

WEIRD Day so far.
I was up late last night and when I awoke I was not aware of the time. The clock said 6:25 and I was about to return to bed as I don't usually arise that early.
I clicked on my computer which told me it was 6:26 PM and I realized I had lost an entire day.
That will teach me to watch Dr. Who, the time lord, before I retire.

I thought you may like this Joke Mac, Normally I would post it in the Joke thread but just think it belongs here.
ROOM 302
A sweet grandmother telephoned St. Joseph's Hospital. She timidly asked, "Is
it possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient is doing?"
The operator said, "I'll be glad to help, dear. What's the name and room
number?"
The grandmother in her weak tremulous voice said, "Norma Findlay, Room 302."
The operator replied, "Let me place you on hold while I check with her
nurse."
After a few minutes the operator returned to the phone and said, "Good news.
Her nurse has told me that Norma is doing very well. Her blood pressure is
fine. Her blood work just came back as normal and her Phys ician, Dr. Cohen,
has scheduled her to be discharged Tuesday."
The grandmother said, "Thank you. That's wonderful! I was so worried ! God
bless you for the good news."
The operator replied, "You're more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?"
The Grandmother said, "No, I'm Norma Findlay in 302. No one tells me shit
around here
