Or Two

Still no word from Carlos on the truck, other then its in the shop in Milwaukee which is about 8 hours from us. So if he gets it fixed before the end of the day and drives here, he could be here at 7am and if so we will load and go.

Change in route, I-35 south to I-80 west, the weather moving in will not allow us to take 90.

Time to consult the bones.

Does this bode well for the trip, get the "repairs" and calamity over first for a smooth trip later

or 😱

Does it foretell a trip loaded with delays, inconveniences, and of course - "repairs".

What do the bones say ?

I hope this is the worst of it, now, for your whole travel.

Take the northern route, into 🇨🇦 over the top of the polar vortex I tell ya 🗣️

Evidently its not, the truck wont be fixed for a week and no other truck in the entire fucken country is near me or does Carlos know about it, further calls have been made and I was told by Nicole told me she would find out what was going on and get back to me, that was 3 hours ago. I am going to guess it will be tomorrow.

Really, shit happens, trucks break, I understand that. Telling me it will be a week before they can get to me is not acceptable. Telling me to put my stuff in a storage locker and they will get it in a week is not an option other then a real bad one.

Yes, I am pissed, it does not happen often nor do I stay that way for long but I can tell you if I don't get a good solution tomorrow the big guns will be pulled.

Can you find another "truck".

What are we talkin' about; U Haul's biggest or an 18 wheeler ?

Maybe you should / could tell your current truck contractor to go :dong: ( )0( ) himself

Bite the bullet on extra $ costs and - find different truck people.

Whadya'think?

BTW will you be in Lava Zone 2 or 3 ?

(Lava Zones 1 - 9, 9 being safest.)

I feel your frustration. 😠

Now I need my 🚬 again. 🥴

The house I am renting is in the middle of Lava Zone # (drum roll) ONE being the best or first or the one that you are most likely to see the next flow from.

Yes Lava zone 1.

The problem is that even if I call someone else it will take at least a week to get a truck here. That is the nature of the trucking business. So as long as they are willing to pay me back the cost of rescheduling my air fare I could leave in a week however everything is packed, I am out of food, I did that by design, so now what? I turned back on or should I say stopped them stopping my internet service so that's OK, and I am paid through the month so that's OK, its the stress that they have caused. I am sure we will come to some agreement tomorrow but I should have been on the road, not sitting here wondering if I am going to move and when.

You are not going to believe this, all day I called sent emails I finally got hold of Carlos who said the truck would be down for a couple weeks OH well. Nicole never returned a call, or email and I sent some, begging her to get with me, nothing.

Tomorrow morning I rent a big U-hall trailer and put my stuff in and hall it to California, I have a new mover who I will drop the stuff off to in San Leandro and deliver it to me in Hawaii. That was the best I could do between 4pm pacific time and now 10PM central.

Dinner is finally in the oven, pie to follow, I should be in bed by oh 1 or 2 back up at 7 get trailer and start loading.

We will be spending tomorrow night at talula's because no matter how fast we move shit into the trailer its going to be afternoon before were done, then we need to make a quick clean/sweep of the house empty trash, you know the routine. So we will finally be on the road hopefully, hopefully, Thursday morning only 2 days late.

I hate moving, and its going to happen at least two more times. This one to Hawaii and when we buy our land the move to it, the move after that is to an urn because I am never ever moving again.

Bummer Dude…

Ain't much else to do but pack and drive carefully.

Take some pictures of how you left the house your leaving. Just in case. Cell phone pics are good enough.

I do hope this is the most traumatic part of the move for you.

Best wishes for more harmonious times.

Looks like you took my advice above.

Think of the hours jump on it you would have had if you dealt with it, at the time of advise.

No the most traumatic will be driving 2000 miles pulling a trailer, what I have been going through is stress, much different.
