Yes, as I understand it, a bad cold winter is part of global warming.
This area is already in the 3rd most snow winter in history and its far from over.

As the ocean warms and feed moisture and heat into the atmpsphere, the jet streams that pull air around the world and push highs and lows with the storms grow stronger and more energetic. Their paths drift farther over land. More snow. More Rain. Stronger storms.

No rain in the forecast of Southern California.
East of California probably has a break in precipitation and is in for that biting, chilling, precipitation free time. Unless there is a tropical moisture feed.(?)
The moisture from the west is "off".

Love the rain and it is gone

Here in Winter Wonderland, its snowing again, then its going to get cold, like zero and below, then we will have a big snow storm but it will warm back up again to about 15 or 20. That takes us through the weekend.
We already have the 3rd highest snow fall recorded and its only the 11th of January. January and February is when it really gets bad, so I think before this winter is over we will have had more snow then anytime in recorded history.
Yes Moi, I got up this morning and there was an inch of new snow on the ground and its still snowing.
I love it.
Rupert on the other hand knows I am somehow responsible for this and is wondering why I am pissed at him, he keeps trying to butter me up.

Looks like the right coast is getting a tropical gift.
Atlanta frozen over. Will the Peach Trees survive?
NYC on weather alert which means some of our mid Atlantic friends are in for a treat to, if not already delivered.
Will it reach up to Maine? Only Ernie can give us the first hand accounts.
OZ-land flooding again.
Aren't parts of Euro-land doing the same?
I love the weather this year. Clean air, fantastic clouds, the views of nature such as snow covered peaks in the distance are really, really special this year.
Only regret no rain in any forecast.

Well final count is another 2 inches of snow with more coming this weekend.
That brings the years total over 30 inches.
