Good News and Bad News...
Good News
The incision looks like it is slowly healing from the inside out. I guess that's a good thing. So, maybe my current urologist was right.
Bad News
I still have a 1" incision on my scrotum. I am still in pain. I am still dealing with swelling of the cords... not as bad: about the size of small testicles.
Summary...
I am not happy yet. We will see what happens by the end of the month. I am almost at 2 months. It has actually been 53 days since the surgery... That's 1,272 hours since my surgery that I have been dealing with pain and all of this stuff.

55 days after the surgery...
Later this morning I have another urologist appointment... yay, more money to fix Kimmel's screw-ups.

That's all for now... Sorry for the lack of information. I will post more later today.

I looked at your picture. Although it seems to be taking a long time, it does not look worse than others I have seen. --FLO--

Why would a doctor slice open the scrotum to take out a testicle (or two). ?
Every incision looks awful during the healing process, but afterwards I wouldn't want a scarred scrotum (not to mention any of the healing issues that are described above).
At least the scar from my testicle operation is hidden by pubic hair.
When my testicle was operated on, years ago, I was admitted to the hospital, I stayed overnight prior to the operation. They did pre-op, shaved me, put me under full sedation, and a 3" almost vertical incision was made in my lower abdomen, and I presume (since I was unconscious) the testicle was removed, the epididimytis was removed, the testicle was stuffed back in, and I was sewed up. Yea, I had a lot of pain afterwards, but probably no more than one might have following a hernia operation. I suspect I will go through the same if/when I have surgery on the other epididimus (one reason I keep putting off the operation....I now know what it is going to be like).

Slicing open the scrotum is easier for outpatient surgeries. Less medical staff needed and can be done under a local at a doctor's office. Many of us who wanted to be eunuchs but did not have the option of a hospital setting due to lack of a medically approved diagnosis. I have been a eunuch for a number of years and the scar you speak of would be more noticeable on me with the thinning of pubic hair than the one at the bottom of my shrunken scrotum.

Ash,
After seeing the picture I'm wondering. Are you planning to have TG surgery in the future? I ask that because I'm wondering if the scar on/in your remaining scrotum will cause a problem with your future surgery? I hope not. The scrotum is a necessary item to form the labia, though as I understand it, not all of the scrotum is used. Are you concerned? Hash

Makes sense for removals if someone is going to transition or never wants replacements. In my first surgery (and also in the probabable upcoming 2nd surgery) the intent was to remove the epididimus and replace the testicle, although I received the usual disclaimers.....no guarantees. Unfortunately after the surgery the testicle feels as if it is attached to the inner wall of the scrotum, doesn't move around normal, and the upper canal is scarred and closed shut so it won't "ride up". I just hate it, which is why I am so reluctant to go through with a second surgery, and wouldn't, except for the recurring chronic pain.
My second fear, besides surgery again, is that the results from the 2nd surgery will be similar to the first result, and then I will double hate what has been done to me and will be ultimately driven to seek removal.........but my third fear is that finally free from recurring pain, nobody will approve what will be looked upon as a "cosmetic" removal. A real debacle.
As a personal choice, should I eventually put into the position of wanting to get them removed I would opt for non-scrotum removal, especially should I get replacements at the same time, or just in case I would want and get replacements in the future. I'm getting very anxious about what the future holds.

Ash, my scrotum looks very similar to yours except that the incision has been closed for about 2 weeks now. Also, the cords ends have shrunken so that I cannot feel the right one at all. (I was castrated by Kimmel 2-days before Ashley was.)

If I choose to proceed... there should be enough skin... but I am not a doctor so I do not know...

Kangan,
My left cord is still the size of a very large grape or a small testicle. My right cord is about the size of a grape still.
I know I said this before... but I am not AT ALL happy with the amount of recovery time that this has taken. We are at day #58 and I am still not closed up completely and the swelling in the cords is still there.
