The May27th surgery date didn’t happen due to a screw up. I’m rescheduled for the First. The depo shot has begun to kick in. I only can get semi hard at best. Dr said due to the delay in surgery I will get a second dose on surgery day. I have also noticed since my depo shot that the right painful testicle does not swell to the huge sizes like it use to. Weird.

I hope you get some relief soon. My testicle is still hurting bad. I had my talk with the Dr and he said he sees lots of guys with pain and there is not a lot they can do. He also suggested cutting the nerves and blocks. I am still pushing for an orchie and at this point am very ok with it but he is not. I am going in for another ultra sound Wed. See where this goes. I wish they would just listen to us - the customer and patient - and do as we ask and pay for.

I start with the block and go from there and see where it leads you on the pain issue and also your Uro. The block helps to tell if a denervation surgery might work for ones pain issue.

Quit screwing around with the Uro's -- find a good plastic surgeon who is familiar with transitional issues -- they are often much more receptive.

Closing in on 36 hours since the denervation surgery on Tuesday morning. I truly have not felt this way in years and I mean YEARS! No heavy feeling down there along with a dull ache and or stabbing pain. It’s too early to say just yet it’s successful but as of right now I’m very p,eased with the results. I was given instructions at discharge for how to treat the pain and have not taken anything at all for pain since this early this morning. The only bad side I have seen is my sleep pattern has been disturbed and have not slept well in two days. Partly from the pre-op anxiety the night before and last night trying to find a comfortable position with a very enlarged testicle that was aching from time to time interrupting my sleep. Hoping tonight is better since the pain issue has not been round all day.

My Uro told me to expect some bruising and swelling after surgery. Ok the right side of my sack turned purple get that, check. Each day the right testicle swelled and swelled slightly each day. Iced and wore a tight jock strap as suggested. All that got me was the pattern of the jock strap transferred to my skin in purple. Sounds painful? Actually not really I was given a script of pain meds and stopped them just a day after. Just uncomfortable as hell having a testicle purple and the size of an orange. Called and messaged the doc and blown off by the nurse. Ugggg. Debated about the ER but in the end decided to give it a day and be a patient patient.

The next day strangely was like a light switch. The purple almost completely disappeared in 24 hrs. Could tell the swelling was now on the down side and has been since then.

I know it sounds like I’m Bitchin and complaining but just mentioning it all as it is. Since I woke up in recovery after surgery I have noticed a huge difference in my pain levels and feelings of heavy down there are gone and still nonexistent. Where was this surgery years ago to bring such a relief? Welcome to new medical techniques over the years. Keep trying and seeking answers!

Congrats on finally having some success and relief from your pain. You show us that castration is not the only answer for painful gonads.

So true. Urologists have told me that they have many men routinely having regularly scheduled office visits with chronic, long term, unrelieved ball pain that urologists do nothing to cure. They just cost patients lots of office visits and money to say, to men Suck it up. Lots of men have painful testicles and there is nothing that we urologists can do to end most of the testicle pains.

During my research i have read that around 5% of the patients they see are for pain. Many Docs are reluctant to do anything about it unless there other physical signs such as varicoceles etc. I’ve heard many men get dismissed with an anti inflammatory or antibiotic and sent on their merry way.

In my case I’ve been involved with pain management doctor for 12 years due to pain on this nerve branch and the femoral nerve branch. I have a pheriperal nerve stimulator for years that did well in keeping the pain under control until recently. My Uro was aware of my very involved surgical history which was a likely cause. He took my case seriously and offered several options. He offered me some conservative measures and I just said I’ve gone that route and still battling it time for something more aggressive. If this doesn’t work I don’t where it will leave me but so far it seems to be working very well. My nerve stimulator has been turned off for a week and the only pain I’ve experienced is at the incision site.

Been a few weeks since I have done an update. Things actually have been going very well on the pain end. Strangely my pain pump has been turned off for two weeks now that I think about it. Never have I gone that long without it. This denervation surgery has solved I think probably 90% of my pain issue. The other part comes and goes so quickly I barely notice it.

Yeah the testicle is still at 4 weeks almost now is still enlarged. Doesn’t hurt but very and I mean very uncomfortable having that between my legs. Well tomorrow I go back for my follow up and hopefully get the all clear to go back to work. Will discuss the uncomfortable swollen testicle now. Will it go down further? If not?

But hey a huge battle has been won and I have conquered the pain after a decade!
