Re: Sharknado (redux)
I'm just saying for some mystical reason
Sharknado has become a cult among all the other new concepts put out by SciFi Channel.
Maybe it was the Jaws and Storm Disaster combination.
I wish they would contract Cassie Szerbo to parade around in short shorts
as she declares, "I Hate Sharks".
Long Live Sharknado.
Y'gotta believe.

Sharknado 4 should be Hawai'i
with a Bethany Hamilton scene of course

I'd much rather see Cassie Szerbo get eaten by the shark.

She did. Remember? And survived.

Sharknado 3′ Is Filming In Orlando
February 19, 2015 7:30 AM
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Sharknado has descended on Orlando.
Filming for the third installment of the Sharknado cable-television movies has begun this week in Universal Orlando Resort, and it will continue into next week.
Locals have been cast as theme park patrons and soldiers.
Like the two previous Syfy Channel films, the cast includes Tara Reid and Ian Ziering.
The very much tongue-in-cheek (I don't see no tongue in cheek. I believe in Sharknadoes.) disaster films follow the heroes as they do battle with shark-raining tornadoes.
What is most facinating to me is how, among all the junk SciFi
Sharknado hit a nerve. Ideas? Please share.
Oh and Cassie did survive being gulped whole by a shark.
I miss her short shorts and "She Hated Sharks".

Re: Sharknado (redux)
It's two hours of people watching stupid things and laughing at the movie. I didn't tune into SHARKNADO 2 for the acting or drama. I watched it to laugh at the sheer stupidity and the excellently moronic dialogue. It's so absurd as to be entertaining.
It's like the THREE STOOGES or those ROADRUNNER cartoons.
There is a little bit of this absurdity in all SCI FI, horror, or monster movies. Take Frankenstein -- digging up dead bodies and returning them to life. Patently absurd if you've ever been around a dead body. So when that is faced what do we end up with YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (thanks to Mel Brooks) .
Or take the sheer zaniness of SPACEBALLS which succeeds in satirizing at least two franchises in Space-Operas.

Re: Sharknado (redux)
YOU GUYS Just Don't Appreciate, "Stupid"!
Of all the ridiculous premises for a SciFi channel movie
Shartopus, Ghost Shark, etc.
YOU GUYS gotta admit (Admit it! Admit it!)
Sharknado touched a nerve or something.
Maybe it was the cast just meshed.
Maybe it was Cassie Czerbo in short shorts, absent from the second movie which was not as good.

I don't claim to know why. I just claim Sharknado has become a cultural phenomena of a
stupid movie worthy of a drive it or throwing pop corn at someone nearby.
I remember seeing tons of stupid SciFi movies in the fifties. I would take a bus to Hollywood Blvd and
see a double feature on Weekends or Summer Days, sometimes.
One made it back on Cable recently and I was amused to see it.
"The Monolith Monsters" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oeiaED_0WE

However, stone(d) monsters never made a cultural phenomena, similar to Sharktapus and diff from Sharknado.
Sharknado is a cultural phenomena.
I Believe !
