Moi, radiation levels in flight are much higher, than those on the ground level (see cosmic radiation).

(Wolfram Alpha claims, that you get about 0.5 mrem/hour at 12km), about 35 times higher, than earth level background radiation (if I am calculating this right). So, a bit more or a bit less, it does not matter much, it is still in relatively safe region. (Unless you are going to live there).

Oh, and Moi, never unroll scotch tape without lead apron, it releases X-rays . Proof of that, I'll leave on anyone wanting to search. (Sure, it requires vacuum, but that does not stop phobias?).

My calculus was done with help of MathCAD. And it still feels like cheating, somehow.
