Hi Caith,
Best wishes for a safe trip, uneventful surgery and speedy recovery as the day you've been waiting for is, at last, just about here! An extended period away from pesky clients sounds wonderful, too!
I look forward to your updates from Miami, sweetie.
Hugs,
Danya

Good Luck and hope everything comes out (off) okay
I thought percocet was stronger than vicodin (unless it is Vicodin ES or MS)

Arrived in Miami about 10:30, found my way north up I-95, and eventually to 125th street. 123rd street crosses over the water to the island where Dr. Reed's office is located. He's about a block off of 123rd, which actually becomes 96th on the island. The Baltic Hotel is south on Highway 1A, then south on Harding, between 77th and 76th streets. It's definitely late 1950s decor and amenities, but Christina at the front desk is a very nice lady. It's only two blocks from the beach, so if you're somebody who loves the sun and heat of summer, it's a good and inexpensive place to stay.
Honestly, I'd rather stay someplace just a bit nicer, but really cannot complain too much. The rates are extremely reasonable, and the rooms are clean enough (well, for me anyway; my wife is not so pleased.) What appeared to be a queen bed is two singles pushed together. But, there's wireless internet and cable television, and it's cool enough in the room. My consult is in about two hours, and it will only take five or ten minutes to drive from the Baltic to Dr. Reed's office. I'll let you know how that goes, but I expect simple formalities with money, paperwork, and final questions and advice.
Batman, I misspoke when I mentioned Percocet, which contains oxycodone and acetaminophen. That is a stronger than Vicodin/Lortab which contains hydrocodone and acetaminophen. I should have said Darvocet (propoxyphene HCl) which has never done a damned thing for any pains I've ever experienced.

Good luck! I have to admit that I am a bit envious...

I hope we can get back together next time I'm over your way. If things go right, I may be living just south of you in 3 or 4 months.

The spouse really started to piss me off this afternoon. She always begins worrying and making up the most extreme, wild and hysterical things to obsess over. The first thing that upset her was the cosmetic surgeon's name on the door along with Dr. Reed's. Suddenly she thinks I'm having Breast Augmentation and Facial Feminization Surgery, all within a one hour surgery slot. If it was that freaking easy and quick, I'd have had it all done sooner. Oh, yeah - - those cost a helluva lot more, too.
Talking with Dr. Reed for a half hour was a very good experience. First she got to see all of his years of accreditations and certifications on the wall. Then when she heard him discussing everything in detail, she began to realize he wasn't some back-alley cutter taking quick cash for a sloppy job. Here's a tip for anyone considering the good doctor's services. The $250 initial patient fee does NOT apply towards his $2500 fee for orchiectomy. I brought a cashier's check for $1250 plus several hundred in cash, because I figured this might be the case.
Surgery is scheduled for 10:30 Thursday morning. He prescribed Keflex (28 pills, two weeks) to prevent infection and Vicodin ES (7.5) for pain after the surgery. I wasn't expecting anything more than Vicodin/Lortab 5.0, so I'll probably cut them in half, and take as little as possible. It's always nice to keep a few in reserve after something like this.

Thanks, Jack!
They came off this morning.

Dr. Reed is very skillful, and I'd rate this as less painful than my vasectomy 17 years ago. The worst part about this morning was not being able to have my routine cup of coffee, and nothing to eat, either. I'm back at the Baltic Hotel, resting comfortably in bed. I grabbed lunch before coming back here, so I could have something on my stomach before taking a Vicodin. Just thought I'd post before getting too darned loopy from the drugs.
