I started with Androgel (Daily) and while the dose had to be adjusted more then once to get me to what was normal for me I think it did a pretty good job. Testicular Hormones "cycle" in 24 hours and Androgel works that way. I went to injections (Costs from insurance) and these last me about a week. Its not the normal "male" cycle and its not even a female cycle so its not perfect but it does seem to work. The problem with long lasting shots is that they tend to convert into estradiol and thus you have to deal with female issues like emotions, gynocomastia (Breast growth) and mood and sexual issues. Memory and such also I think. The really long lasting stuff maybe even worse from what I hear second hand but??? Body fat should be reduced as much as possible as this is where the conversion takes place. Get or stay thin and you limit conversion.
This is one good reason to not do any self castrations in the first place but its too late for you.

For now I have decided to skip the HRT for now as I really feel great. the only reason I was really thinking about it was my end was strongly suggesting it. But after talking further with her she agrees I should do what makes me feel best. I know self castration is not the best route , but it worked for me and get the twins removed. I am testosterone free and very happy.

I have been at castration level T for about 1.5 years, either chemically, or by alcohol injections and now to finalize it castration. I have experienced hot flashes and much to my wifes enjoyment I have cried on several occasions (sappy movies}. My memory is also not as good. As far as having high T, no my last several labs have had my T at about 26 ng/dl.

Just a update. Things are going well but there have been several setbacks. I developed a rather large hematoma that required my urologist to open me up and drain it. This was due to extreme sensitivity (pain) and draining it has helped considerably. I presently remove and replace the packing thru the incision in my scrotum. I was told that over time it will start to close up from the inside out gradually requiring less packing. I also have developed a slight infection that my urologist prescribed a antibiotic for. I will add that I am still very happy to have had the twins removed and the extra healing time although not pleasant, I still consider it well worth the outcome.

When I had trouble with appendicitis and had three surgeries in a row, I had to pack an 11 inch incision on my tummy with gauze and sterile dressings for a couple months. It's tedious, kind disgusting but eventually, it all heals and goes away.
Slight infections are common too. there's just to many bugs down around there not to get them. I turned lobster red one day and that was a skin infection some paste took care of...
Ain't much more that I can say other than be patient and do what the doctor says.

Post surgical problems with an orchiectomy using a scrotal approach are more common than those that use an abdominal incision. The reasons are many but the most common besides keeping the surgery site clean is the scrotum has a fragile muscular structure and poor blood supply compared to the lower abdominal wall. Bleeders are harder to locate and to tie or cauterize. This makes healing slower, the site more difficult to close properly and therefore, infections are more common, as are hematomas. Younger people do better than older people with any surgery. Few young men seek orchiectomies and older men should insist on the abdominal approach, especially if they have diabetes or other medical conditions. If you are taking an anti-coagulent or ASPIRIN you MUST stop it and be off of it for enough time for your system to clear itself of it before surgery.
Anyone reading this considering this type of surgery please find a good surgeon (does not have to be a urologist) who uses conventional techniques and contact Jesus with a P.M. for advice and documentation.

Things are getting better after 3 weeks of packing and repacking the cavity in my scrotum the hematoma is now the size of a peanut instead of a little bigger than a golf ball. Also about all the pain is also gone. The only thing left is what looks like a inny belly button.
I am still very happy to be a eunuch and testosterone free and have no regrets other than it took so long to get to this point and the way I have to go about making this a reality.
I really appreciate this site and all the information I got here and with out you all I might never have made the journey.
Thanks Terry
