Well just in case no one is curious or interested in Todd 2 Danya you might want to have the music for the piano ready... Now... The question is WHAT music!?

:)

Frankly I kind of hope it turns out to be not a big deal at work for you. In a perfect world you would have most everyone "get it" and maybe people stopping by saying congradulations and good luck or maybe even a good natured joke or two. Or saying "I had this done 10 years ago but I never told anyone. Call me if you want to chat!" That would be interesting if a lot of people did that.

Turns out everything will proceed as scheduled. My company is amazing. Human Resources is virtually insisting that everything they do about handling my transition is fine with me. Like getting my OK for the educator for the employee info session next week.

I have had an amazing day. An unusual mixture of feeling calm, happy, content and excited all at once! :) I am truly fortunate to have reached this place in my life.

The piano music would likely be a Brahms Capriccio which would certainly meet with objections from Kristoff! :D He won't be there, though, so should it come to needing the piano music I should be fine. The advantage of a relatively short Capriccio, as friend Tugon would point out, is that it would fit in with the shortened attention spans of many of today's music listeners :)

I suspect my transitioning will turn out to be not that big a deal, for the most part. Although in a way it may have a large impact in getting some people to think and even relate on different levels. More on this possibility, mentioned to me by a manager, at a later date.

As for the good-natured joking, I'm totally up for that. Starting several months ago, I've been in a number of meetings where everyone present knew what's going on and we bantered back and forth about it.

I was speaking with a close friend this evening about you, and all the events and happenings surrounding your efforts. When I mentioned your employer, he said, to this effect: "Jesus H. C, if they can't get it right no one can." Me thinks you are in good stead at work.

Things are just a bit ahead of schedule. Friday should be an interesting day at work. The big announcement somehow got rescheduled from next week to tomorrow! :)

Are you starting a week early, or still getting your wardrobe together?

The official start date for Danya remains the same :D I am definitely still getting my wardrobe together! A woman needs time to do these things properly :)

I am concerned about what to wear my first day as Danya, in a little over a week. My goal for the first few months is to dress similarly to other women on my floor. Unfortunately, that means no dresses 😄, but slacks and some fairly non-descript blouse or sweater. Yes, by that day it may still be cool enough to wear a sweater.

Truth is, over the last few months I've also been wearing some feminine jewelry, mostly under my shirt. Even though that's been hidden, I've been concerned there too that the jewelry color match or complement that shirt I've worn :D

I will admit I'm feeling a little anxious today as I get ready for work, when the announcement should be made about my upcoming transition. I'm not feeling overwhelmed, though, and had a good night's sleep. Right now I feel like everything's been set in motion. I usually do better, as I reported earlier, when I am taking action and not

oday is definitely an action day.

I may not post details until tomorrow so don't take it as a bad sign if I don't post how things went at work later today. :-) This evening is the opening of the Trans Health Fair and I will be attending that.
