The Sweet Shelling Peas seem to prefer early Spring and are petering out now. I plan to replace them with corn that I likewise enjoy grazing in the yard. The garlic is finished but next to the garlic the white onions continue to grow. Unfortunately, too many have pushed themselves out from under the ground.

Tomatoes are a disaster. Branches and leaves wilt brown and dry before the fruit ripens. Over watered I think.

Isn't it nice to grow stuff. Not kids, I mean. Edible stuff.

At the end of another gloomy day, one where the sun never broke through,

I run the A/C to get the damp out of the house.

It makes me feel more comfy even at a cooler temperature and easier breathing.

What I would like to figure out is why some lettuce goes immediately to seed and other times it is more prone to form heads. Similar for the radishes. Sometimes they go immediately to seed, other times they produce a nice cherry sized radish in no time at all. The cilantro too come to think of it. Sometimes immediately to seed, other times, leafy and bushy.

The garlic and fresh shelling peas are about done. I have to clear those beds in a few and prepare another round of garlic in the garlic and onion box, and corn in place of the peas.

The weather man said it would rain yesterday and it did, today Fathers Day is to be nice and sunny tomorrow through Wednesday RAIN. It clears out the humidity which when it get about 25% we suffer, not like you guys in Republican country where it just gets muggy hot and stays that way.

The coastal air conditioning continues with hi 60's, low 70's and sun. By the time I get out of bed anyways.

I get about 5-15 boysenberries and blackberries a day. The sweet shelling peas are finishing and by radish just goes to seed. Which is not bad since radish seed pods are yummy.

My grape tomatoes ripen on dead branches. Why do my tomato branches die before the ripening?

And the good news is the days (day lite hours, not the 24) are finally getting shorter. Yea!

I talked to my 90 yr old parents in Colorado Springs. They're on the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain {home of NORAD} about 5 miles from the fire evacuation zone. Smoke is not good for them. Yesterday the Springs hit an all time high of 101 degrees with thunderstorms today w/ 60 mph winds. Bizarre weather. Brutal fire.

After five days of record-smashing temperatures, Colorado Springs saw an all-time high Tuesday of 101 degrees.

The previous all-time record of 100 degrees has been seen only six times: twice during 2012: June 23, 1954 and 2012; June 24, 1954 and 2012; July 13, 1954; and finally July 24, 2003.

But of course Global Warming is a hoax.

It got so hot today my house became 73F inside with all the windows open

so I had to turn on the A/C.

Help to cool off the world. Fighting global warming. I use to do it by leaving the refrigerator door open but lost too much milk to spoilage. One can only invest so much in combating global warming.

Also, today is a heavy watering day too because evaporation helps cool things off. Help as I can.

Anyone in the MidWest bake zone?

It was 108F here yesterday, and 105F today.

I don't mind it, really.

River will be happy to know I was comfortable walking 5 blocks to get lunch.

The humidity has been lower, though, so that helps.

I hear that people in MN/WI die at these temps?!
