I'm not castrated, but have had non-functioning testicles due to a prolactin secreting pituitary tumor, for about twenty-five years. This condition lasted for 12 years before my doctor put me on HRT. Before my testicles stopped working my erect penis was 7-3/4 inches long and 2-1/2 inches in diameter. After going on HRT I started having erections again but they are now 6 inches long and 1-3/4 inches in diameter. All this does not seem to have had any effect on it's size when soft. If I use a vacuum pump I can get almost up to my former size for 1/2 hour, but since I am otherwise functional there doesn't seem to be any point to it. (Pun not intended.)

My doctor explained that the penis does not shrink but that, without regular erections, the spongy material in the corpus cavernosum looses it's ability to expand. I think that I can verify this because when I started having erections again they were very painful, like pulling adhesions, until everything stretched as far as it was able.

I can't really comment about the effects of the non-functioning testicles on ejaculate since I had a vasectomy at age 27. The effects of that were to make the volume much less and while not clear it has a noticeably thinner consistency that before the vasectomy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_penis_size

I note with great satisfaction that

"the consensus is that the average human penis is approximately 12.9–15 cm (5.1–5.9 in) in length"

and "most penises are below average in size."

On a related but makes no sense to me note - I have an email from the late Dr Spector where he stated "In general, however, taking testosterone long-term would cause shrinkage of the genitalia, including penis and testicles. "

I agree 100% with the late Doc on Testicular shrinkage and I think thats well documented but why penile shrinkage?

I remember reading. some years back, that a Japanese doctor did a research project on penis size by mailing out thousands of "penis measuring devices" to men all over the world.

The device was a "T" shaped piece of paper. The user was supposed to wrap the cross of the "T", snug, around the base of his erection and tape it. Then, he was to extend the leg of the "T" to the end of his penis , pull it up, snug, around the tip and back to the cross of the "T" and tape it. After doing this the participant slipped the paper image of his erect penis off, put it in an envelope, and mailed it back to the doctor.

I can't remember if the figure on returns was 20,000 or 50,000, but it was rather high. From analyzing the returned measuring devices he concluded that the average erect penis length for Asian men was 4.9 inches, the average for Caucasian men was 5.0 inches, and the average for African men was 5.1 inches. If his conclusions are accurate it would seem that most men either do not know how to use a ruler or are just plain liars.

By the way, I have it on the authority of an acquaintance who is a porn producer that, from his casting experience, about one in 500 men, of whatever race or ethnicity, has a "porn star penis".

The only academic article that I have found to date that mentions it is by C.S.Higano (Side effects of androgen deprivation therapy: Monitoring and minimizing toxicity. Urology, 61 (2003), 32-38). When contacted about her research, she said that it was only anecdotal from talking with her prostate cancer patients who had been chemically castrated.

I would like to have some REAL data to counter the comment (and to give some real information here on the Archive).

Are there any members here who have measured their penis before and after either chemical or surgical castration? If so, what was the length before and after? And, how much time elapsed between measures? Information showing no change is just as valuable as that with change. Also needed is what sort of hormone replacement therapy (if any) you have used.

Please either post your answers below or send me a Private Message. I will tally the results and let you all know.

The Corpora of the penis limit the length and from what I've read this does not stretch or shrink but... The pubic fat pad can clearly get bigger and this may well be that "shrinkage" that people are reporting.

The paper scheme may well measure girth correctly but this doesn't take into account the Fat pad either. And of course with zero testosterone it can=extra pounds.

I am almost ready to begin my experiment with taking siterone. I understand that it can cause penile shrinkage, but one thing that I really want to know, is if I change my mind and discontinue the siterone, afterwords, will my penis return to normal or will it stay smaller?

Yes it could be testosterone loss that causes penis shortening. But as you compare your current measurement with age 16 measurement you should consider your body changes over time. First more muscles and then more fat. I have noticed that I've lost some of my penis lenght because it has sunk into my body partially due to increased body fat.

I am also not castrated, but my penis has shrunk from about 7.5 inch (19 cm) to about 4.5 inch (11.5 cm) maximum. I believe it happened because I had an extreme low T level for several months.

When I was 13 years old my penis must have been not much longer than 3 inch (7.5 cm) and had a diameter of not more than 0.7 inch (1.5 cm), which was the diameter of the opening of the wine bottle I put my penis into :dong:. In one year I grow a little bigger because at the age of 14 my penis didn't fit in the bottle anymore. That was the time I had a fantasy being a girl and get loved and fucked by a boy. 😚
