If you are a detective with the Rochdale police and the men are Asian and the girls young and white, you do absolutely nothing!

Police have turned a blind eye to abuse country wide, regardless of the race of the victims or perpetrators. People who are institutionalised have suffered the worst in this regard.

The inconsistencies of the various UK police forces in investigating crimes by or against minorities (in any category) are a source of constant concern among those of us active in campaigning for public policy reform... but as a Neoplatonist I urge everybody to keep in mind a quest for ideals of justice, equality and so forth. The tensions that unjust and uneven policing and sentencing create tear our communities apart, so be careful how you talk about all of it.
