I just spoke with B-3. He is most definitely bored by his stay in the intermediate care facility. When I called, he was just back in his bed from a therapy session and, while clearly tired, sounded much better and with a stronger voice than the last time we spoke. His hope is to be home within another week or two.
His major goal right now is to be able to EAT something. He's still being fed through a tube into his stomach as he can't properly swallow. He's getting regular voice therapy and has a series of tongue exercises. He said that he now dreams of a chicken dinner, though his first meal, he was told, would be slightly thickened apple juice – not even up to applesauce consistency.
He has now managed to get to the two patient-accessible computers at the facility, but discovered that the Eunuch Archive is a blocked site, so he can't log on. We'll have to wait for his return home to hear from him. He did express his thanks for the good wishes that have been posted here.
While he can't talk for long, yet, he definitely enjoys receiving calls. Either Moi or I can furnish the phone number to his bedside.
