TR,
Glad that things are progressining positively for you after the minor setbacks you endured. I can understand your issues with TRT and your scrotum. My scrotum was not removed because my insurance would not pay for that. While it was flat and empty it initially seemed to get in the way more than I would have expected. It was OK during the day with normal activities but got in the way mostly at night when sleeping. It got caught between my thighs when rolling over so I always had to reach down and pull it out from between my thighs. I figured that with balls, the thighs would keep pushing it out from between my them but without the testicles there was nothing to accomplish that and it seemed to want to be back between my thighs. Things have improved as the scrotum has shrunk and I've probably adapted to it. I did consider having it removed back then but its not a problem after a year. However mine was always pretty small and tight even with balls inside.
TRT is another issue where the answer should be more in your hands. I do take some myself but nowhere near enough to get my T level into the normal level but adequate to give me some strength and energy plus aiding to absorb calcium to prevent osteoporosis. My urologist and endocrinologist have prescribed Testim gel which is similar to what your endo has suggested. I played around with various doses to find where I am most comfortable. I am currently taking 1/2 a tube which is equivalent to your 25mg but I am only taking it every other day or two, not every day. I would certainly suggest you take her up on her idea (esp if your insurance covers it) and experiment a bit. You can take that much or cut back as you may desire or maybe after playing with it, you will find that you really can do with out it. Its easy to just stop if you find it preferrable that way. You've been experimental with chemicals and injections, I'd suggest that you play around with TRT and see how it suits you.
