I have now been on androcur and tamoxifen for four months now and I agree with AJ's observation in that I still find things erotic, but in a detached sort way that I can control. It makes me wonder if this is what being castrated is or if I'm only in a semi-castrated state, if there is such a term. My wife said to me that one day she will ask for sex and I will tell her that I'm not in the mood for it anymore but at this point I don't see myself ever becoming completely sexless and not being unable to perform when she asks. Perhaps additional time will reduce my libido further so that I can say for sure, yes, I am now completely castrated.

The way you feel is not truly a way to know if you are fully in a castrated levels. I was on androcur. I thought I had to be at the levels from my feelings and effects. Had a blood test from my doctor. Found that I was just about half lower from where I started. After increasing the dose of androcr the effects became even more pronounced. Was very surprise that more changes could happen. Talking to many others, the same experience seems common when blood tests are taken during chemical castration to monitor effects.

Think of it this way. You put your hand in a warm bowl of water. You increase the temperature of the water. Can you keep the hand in the water longer if you increase the temperature a little more? When will your limit be found? With hormones you know the limit with blood test and not how you feel.

If your getting gynocomastia I think your Estrogen levels must be quite high. What may happen is that your "mix" is becoming a much more female type of balance. A little testosterone dominated by Estrogen. This mix will still leave you with a sex drive but a female one which is there but different. What will the effect be if you transition? Your wife will still be "sexless" and you will be female and horny. How does that work any better? If you go Nullo (Shudder) you will be horny and incapable of satisfying your sexual needs. A real horror show I think.

Why not explore some way to increase your wifes sex drive (Hormones etc) rather then these other paths your on???

Thought I would update this post it has been a while, unfortunately i had to stop my chemical castration due to some unforseen issues in my work life. Like being called back into gov't service. Some of you who know me will understand what i mean. I will tell you this much after 4 months on the chemicals I was very happy I loved the control the calmness, the only real side effect i hated was weight gain, I put on about 15lbs despite working out. It has taken some time to get it down. The chems did have a few lasting effects however, ejaculate volumn is still way down, me sexual desire is some what off still and i did loose some mass to my testicles, all good things in my book If all goes well I will be back on course in a few months, i do know this what I did was the right step for me I suggest that all considering this, castration, do the chemical test run.

In Holland it was not difficult to buy androcure. So I started using androcur for just one week to see what happens to your body. I started two times a day with 75 mg a day for the first three days. Then I went to 2 times 50 mg.

Now I know its a very strong medicine and it looked like a knife was put in my balls. My nipples got coins in it and my breast got hard. Then I stopped, because there was no any doctor involved with this and it feeld dangerous.

Days after this few days using Androcur i felt no interst in sex and my balls did loose weight en got tiny. The skin of my scrotem got white. I took days before everything went normal. Now i know never androcure again.
