Thank you so much for this informative article on castration. As a soon-to-be chemically castrated individual, i am seeking all the information i can find on this subject. This primer really helps.

This is an excellent article and I am happy that I came across it. I have been seriously contemplating castration for many months and the urge is getting stronger by the day. Again, thank you for providing this information and many kudos are being sent your way.

For motivation one topic that I don't believe was mentioned is personal hygiene. This was by no means my main reason for my nullification but a secondary benefit. I lead an active life, spots, camping, swimming and other activities. Showering and bath time is simpler and more enjoyable if there are no genitals to attend to. As a eunuch I feel cleaner and fresher after bathing. This may be a small thing but it's something I appreciate.

I want to remove most of my scrotum and my testicles. Im in the process of MtF on Spironolactone and Estrogen, with not really good results. Im considering banding them and then immediately cutting it off. My question is, has anyone done this or know of anyone that has? My concern, well one of many, is that immediately after banding, the testicles start to hurt really bad. Does that feeling go away after cutting them off or is there a residual pain besides the pain of the cutting, Im talking about the pain you feel from the banding, that extends into youre stomach?

This is a REALLY, REALLY BAD IDEA!!!!! First off, despite all the FICTION stories in the story section, banding on humans is NOT a safe procedure - If lucky it can land you in the ER followed by some very awkward questions from the dudes in the psych unit... If not so lucky it can land you in the morgue (which at least gets you out of the questions....) It is reportedly VERY painful - I haven't tried it.
Another reason NOT to do this is that you say you are on an MtF path. It is important to note that it is highly recommended that you KEEP the scrotum as they use the skin from it in doing future vaginoplasty. While there is definite evidence that getting an orchiectomy to remove ONLY the testicles does have a lot of benefits, including reducing or eliminating the need for some of the anti-androgen drugs and improving the response to the feminizing hormones and drugs, you should keep the scrotum for use in further surgery.
Are you trying to do this on your own, or are you under medical care? It USED to be necessary to use "DIY" methods, but times have changed and it is now possible and relatively easy in most of the US to get proper medical care and safe drugs / surgery. EA advice these days is to follow the medical route, and leave the DIY stuff back in the shop where it belongs. I'd suggest that if you haven't already, you should reach out to your local Trans-gender center or clinics, there are several in your area, I just checked... It seems very possible that a center could improve on your medication treatment, I'm no expert but I think there may be better combinations of drugs that would work for you.
If you haven't already done so, I'd also suggest downloading and studying a copy of the WPATH "Standards of Care v.8" from their website - this is the protocol that most, if not all TG care providers follow, and it helps to know what sorts of things they are going to be looking for in terms of giving you the referrals and other care you need.
Good luck on your journey

I am with Wheely on this one. He's exactly right.
There are quite a few things that can go wrong with this, and most certainly will. All one needs to do is check an anatomy text.
Banding works with animals in that their circulatory system is quite different than humans.
More than likely, the band would slip off the scrotal stump and you would bleed out.
If you could endure the pain, then the rotting tissue would likely spread infection beyond the band IF it held. The beginnings of sepsis are no fun. Been there, done that, damn near died. No thanks. Infections are nothing to screw with.
I sometimes jokingly post that if you are going to do this, then do it behind the bushes and landscaping just outside the ER doors, so that you can dash (or crawl) right into the ER.
However, it's likely you'd then find yourself on a psych hold for some days.
If you're in the USA, and without health insurance (which would likely weasel out of paying for it due to self-harm), you'll be presented with a bill for several million dollars.

Well, maybe not that much, but close. Not to get political about the joke of a healthcare system in the USA.
In short, don't do it.
Study the SOC V8 and go that route. In some cases of gender dysphoria, insurance might even pay for it.
Or, search the Archive for posts about surgeons, and who and where, will do elective orchiectomy for cash in a safe environment.
