I totally understand your situation and feel the same way. Why can they just not listen and help us? It costs them nothing to do as we ask.

My remaining testicle is really hurting (I know it was self caused with injections). I just want it gone before I do something else about it.

I've tried to reach out to the Uro clinic and on hold forever to be told oh the nurse will call you back. Crickets...... No call from the nurse.....no call from the Dr for a cord block...... No call from a therapist for pelvic floor therapy..... I turn to experts for help and just get lip service at best. No one wants to help and get the hint that they do not believe I have this pai.

It might be that they are closed due to COVID. My primary care doctor and his NP both came down with COVID and were closed for about 8 weeks.

With my email thru the patient portal I finally got a response. They said they would call me and were surprised by the "delay". Waiting for a call now for an appt with the doc for a cord block consult...... "Delay"

Maybe contact the clinic s business manager who is likely more interested in paying patients being seen and keeping his clinic financially healthy. Maybe he can get his clinic s uncaring drs willing to see and treat you, if you continue to get no care ? Or look for a new clinic and different drs.

Drs totally unnecessary and selfish arrogance and uncaring attitudes toward patients are paving the way toward socialized medicine and a fast end to drs being treated any different from any other occupations in pay, respect, or trust. I think that is long overdue. Too bad socialized medicine is often very inefficient. But this man s experience is worse than inefficient.

Well today I finally got that call from the scheduler some 33 days after being referred. The scheduler says this Uro is very booked up and the earliest I can be seen for a cord nerve block is Dec 31st...... I took it.

I already knew the answer but called my pain management doc who has done other nerve blocks for this situation in the past just not on the cord. Amazingly I heard back quickly from his nurse that no he does not do them due to the specialized field it involves. I figured it would be a no. But how can one clinic take over a month to respond and one takes hours? I know one is mismanaged and we all know it. Too bad it's the only one local that can treat my issue without huge travel times involved which for right now I cannot do.

Been patiently waiting for this upcoming appt. The pain has been hiding some days and others it has been relentless. Some days start out good and end up in me limping my way home from work. It's unpredictable on my situation can be. Growing so tired of this battle and an employer that I can't explain it to.

I know this sounds too simple. But have you tried wearing a jockstrap every day to lift and support your balls and give your cords a rest ? Its worth trying for a while to see if it helps.

Also you could try ice or hot water bottles on your balls out in your vehicle over your lunch break, or at home after work to see if that helps ?

My dr had me on tons of Advil, way more than the package directions and for months. But I m a large man, so I can take more Advil I guess. It did seem to help my pain and reduce swelling.

I have worn jocks and cups before to help support and keeping them from being tossed around. It does help for awhile but after a few days it seems to make the matter even worse. I just can't find the perfect balance of what works and what does not.

Saw the doc today. I was in a pain flare perfect for the appt. I was given several options of treatment and routes to go thru. The uro is conservative but aggressive and I decided a more aggressive route due to my history and jump thru hoops. I decided for a spermatic cord block verses other conservative treatments. Sadly the clinic was out of the long lasting block part of cocktail needed so I have to go back to get the nerve block. If the nerve block works on the nerve pain then it's option 1 for surgery. If it does not work then option 2 for physical therapy and or meds used for BPH that relax pelvic muscles down there

Went back today for the spermatic cord block. I hate needles and the doc walked in with a nice syringe in full view got my nerves and anxiety going. He spent time explain what he was going to do and what to expect or to experience. Got my nerves calmed down a lot. In short if this block worked for 6 hours in relieving my pain then it would time to do a denervation surgery leaving just an artery to supply blood to the right testicle. He is opposed to taking it out for hormone issues.

It was time for the shot and drop the pants for the shot. Weird having someone feeling around your junk to find the cord. Overall the shot was similar to a flu shot not painful at all. I was soon done and able to cover up my junk again and given instructions to call back on Monday with how the block performed and to do things that aggravated my pain issue. I returned home turned off my nerve stimulator and went to shoveling snow among other things that would leave me down and out for a day or two with pain. Strangely I’m closing in on 12 hrs since the block being done and haven’t experienced one not one horrible shot of pain or nausea from my chronic pain issue.

See what the coming days bring and hope it lasts even further for me since today was one of the least painful days I have seen in ages. I think we have finally found an answer to my pain situation
