I know my oldest son loves to be on stage, its because the energy he gives he receives back from the audience, you don't get that from a movie. This is why stage actors can do the same show 9 or 10 times a week for several years, every show is different.

1776
Some of the verse is from an individual's private letters.
I guess "Lee" did like to pun his name

Two messages were in Cats, the first was rebirth, the second and more important was Cats are not Dogs.

I usually watch it once a year around the 4th.
I think my favorite is the opening song, which has three different songs in one.

I saw 1776 onstage and enjoyed it. It isn't my favorite musical but onstage it was enjoyable.
CATS, however, I've never seen onstage. I did see it on OVATION once or twice and part on the internet. I like the music but since I'm a dog person and it's a bunch of poems about cats, it doesn't impress me. Nice music and good dancing but I don't get a burning desire to see it.
MAN OF LA MANCHA is more my musical favorite. I've seen it twice onstage and enjoyed both productions.
HELLO DOLLY onstage with Carol Channing live is another.

The other day I saw "La cenerentola" (an actual opera by Rossini) that completely ended up blowing me away. Originally I had turned on the television for the music. It's the old world version of "Cinderella".
