I took a two-hour flight three days after my orchiectomy. No real issues as there was no drainage or seeping. Longer flights might be a bit more uncomfortable, but not unbearably so. The more you rest and remain less active the first two to three days after surgery, the better your healing will be.

If you want it bad enough, you'll endure a simple flight change. Sheesh...

Since what I would have suggested for travel already has been, I'll stop here.

Would you have been OK to get on an aeroplane after the procedure or the next day, for a 12 hour trip?

I'm in the UK and am planning the logistics of making a visit to Dr. Arnkoff. I think Detroit is the nearest airport but there are no direct flights from the UK I understand, so it's a long trip with a change.

I flew home to California the next day. Waited siz hours in the airport and another two In Los Angeles. All total including flight it was about 6 hours, and I slept part of the way.

I sat in the Detroit Airport for 4 hours and then the flight was fouhours to LA and waited another two hours in LA for a 30 minute flight to San Diego. My answer is yes, get up and walk around and take the pain pills. I had no problems on Monday, the third day.

There is no leakage and I have stop taking the pain pills. Minor swelling and still black and blue exist, otherwise all is well. Will continue to take the antibiotic pills unil they run out.

I have an appointment set with Dr Arnkoff for the 22nd. I'll let you all know how it goes here. Regreen, is there anything you might recommend for me to make the stay more comfortable?

I'm definitely bringing a cooler full of ice packs and maybe one of those ring cushions for the drive home though. Just to be cautious.

I had either seven or eight stitches holding together the mid-line incision, which was about one to one-and-a-half inches long.
