My contacts in Japan are all recommending the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders as the best immediate care providers.

The American Red Cross has close contacts in Japan and they are already doing great work there. Doctors Without Borders are the experts in dealing with situations where communications and the infrastructure have broken down, as they have in northeastern Japan.

This video was on the NBC News tonite too.

The body language is remarkable. No confusion.

Both saved, but one sent for medical care and one to a shelter. Moi's only :( part, they should have been kept together.

Hope y'all enjoy

He’s made some outrageous statements before (he’s nearly a match for Palin or Bachman), but today he announced that the disaster was “Heaven’s Punishment for selfish egoism.” The tsunami would “wash away the selfishness of the Japanese people.”

We all love the Governor of Tokyo (he comes out with the most interesting news bites) other popular ones:

In replying to a question about the actions by a rugby team gang raping some girls he said "At least some men in Japan have some vigor"

On the declining birth rate " Women should remember that they are firstly baby making machines"

the list goes on and on I paraphrase as Japanese does not actually translate well anyway.

He actually said divine punishment, that was classic. That is not a common belief here at all.

Anyway interesting posts here Moi621 keeps bugging me to check them out for some reason....
