The Eunuch Archive is getting ready to grow again. Honestly, you should see the plans we have for the future, they're just incredible. Unfortunately, we're reaching the stage where not only do we need money to grow, but to survive, and for that we need your help.
So what were the incredible changes we helped pay for ?

Although we're always advised not to do it and it certainly carries a degree of risk the most effective way is to go to the bank, Post Office (
http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/j ... d=19300207) or Bureau de Change, buy some dollar bills and post them.
Getting a counter cheque drawn on an American bank is horrifically expensive and sending a sterling cheque worse as few US banks will handle them and the exceptions will charge even more for doing so than their British counterparts.
I have sitting in front of me a cheque drawn on JPMorgan Chase Bank of Rochester NY. It was nice to receive as it was a prize and I might end up framing it as it's certainly not worth banking $4 at a cost of £25.
I've received checks, postal money orders, and cash in euros, and haven't had any problems depositing them in my bank. I've also received postal money orders in Canadian dollars. There is a service charge for deposits made in foreign funds, but it's only a few dollars.

Randy,
One thing, in a word, "Hardware." Boxes don't last forever, ya know!

And software, too. The first couple of versions of VBulletin were free. The Eunuch Archive was a Beta Tester for the company. Since then, we've had to pay for upgrades. Software to handle other aspects of the Archive (chat and the personals) are also purchased. The story board program was written by Bboy, the Archive founder (and is probably incompatible with anything else in the known world).
The cost to run the Archive is low, as BME hosts the site, which would otherwise be a major expense. That's how it can survive on donations, rather than becoming a pay site.

PayPal won't deal with "adult" sites, or at least, not a few that I know of.
Thanks for asking, though.
Maybe one of the administrators could sell bookmarks for ten or twenty dollars and collect the money via PayPal. PayPal would never know that the money was really going to the EA.

Anyone making a donation will be entitled to hugs and kisses from the Nun and I at the next MOM this summer.
Oh wait...the whole point is to GET some donations...not pay you to come!
Never mind...

Multi-byte character message removed. Encoding in all forms fails to render it.

I'll be sending you a money order next month to help out.
At some point it seems advisable to require people to subscribe (via paypal perhaps) before they can post comments and/or enter certain more personal and interactive areas of the truly serious (not just the lookie loos).
Requiring financial subscriptions might help cut down on junk postings that you have to spend time deleting or editing.
It doesn't seem quite fair that anyone who doesn't provide financial support gets all the same rights and privileges as anyone who does provide financial support.
Anyway, hang in there........er, oops, bad choice of words.
