The most hilarious, disturbing and sacreligious car sticker/art I ever saw was one time when driving from Calgary home to Saskatoon (that right there is enough to classify this post as a horror-story).

It was an stuffed arm, hanging out of the trunk, with a bloody nail driven through the palm of its hand. Under that was a sticker reading, "I Found Jesus!"

Living within a tad over a mile or so of the Jimmy Swaggart World Ministries, I will one day have to use that one!

I don't like it when people (no matter what faith) try to push their own belief system onto others. I think your spiritual journey is something you have travel by yourself without swallowing anyone elses dogma or bullshit.

I really agree with this. Unfortunately the saved often feel obliged to save everyone else as well. It would be really nice if instead of pushing beliefs, (be they religious or political) if we could just chill out.

It has been made clear by others that this type of Christianity is hated. The non hypocritical kind that believes what the bible says about some people being eternally separated from God. Consider that person believes what they believe to be absolute truth. What would they be if they sat by and didn’t share the gospel with an unsaved person as they perished? Wicked or good?

What if we were neighbors, and in the middle of the night I looked over and saw that, unknown to you, your house was engulfed in flames. Would you want me to think oh they’ll be fine, then roll back over in bed? Or maybe go tap on the front door and whisper, "Well I see your house is on fire, and that’s fine that’s fine…I respect that… but my house, you see, is not on fire and well.. oh nevermind I don’t want to tell you how to live." Or would you want me to kick the door down grab you out of bed, sure it might be uncomfortable at first but I don’t mind because I love you.

That's really the heart of the matter, isn't it? The reason that Christianity and later Islam, had the effect on the world that they did is that they have the call to proselytization. The Jewish religion gave it up, after the Hellenistic period. Most other religions are either exclusive by birth or take the attitude that "The Word is One although the sages know it as many."

You know what, Randy? Christians once used the same reasoning when they burned heretics. They burned them to save their souls. What you propose is only slightly less offensive. You look after your own soul. I'll look after mine.

Some Muslims kill for their god. They are just as likely to be in the right as you are. How do you decide which of you is right, which of you believe in the true god? They believe strongly enough in theirs to blow themselves up in his name. All you did was cut off your balls. If strength of belief is any kind of proof that God exists, then theirs is more likely to exist than yours is.

I don't care what god you believe in, Randy, but if you try to impose that god on me, then we have issues.

the muslim martyr's act of dedication was executed to receive glory in paradise. that makes them immoral. my ticket in paradise was already paid for. my act will not glorify me. i will be held to a higher standard of righteousness.
