Dr. Arnkoff is Dr. Kimmel re-incarnated? Price is about the same (adjusted for inflation) and so is everything else. Kimmel was a bit of a quack, so beware.... (I owe much to Dr. Murray Kimmel, may he rest in peace....)

You have information that Kimmel has passed? He was pushed into retirement at 70 when his then current license expired, but I haven't heard that he passed.

Did Dr Kimmel do penectomies too? I rather think not, even if he was / is a colorful character.

I just scheduled an appointment for May 2nd. The cost is an even $3000. His first question was whether I had any questions or if I wanted to schedule a procedure. After, he only asked if I was on any medications or had any recent surgeries. Once I answered "no" to both, he said he doesn't require any letters and to text him with my preferred date of surgery. He said he does surgeries on Saturdays, there is no pre-op exam, the actual procedure is about 20 minutes and numbing the area takes about 15 more. He said I'd be in and out in about 90 minutes.
Geez, I wish all doctors were this easy to work with.
What's that hotel everybody recommends that's within walking distance?
Thanks,
Jared

I know of one that he did, talked to the gentleman in person. Let's just say it's a very small world after all. That's all we'll say about that.

Good luck, Jared! I hope you'll share your experience on this thread. Would love to hear all about it.
Are you the only one scheduled that morning?

Thanks guys. I don't have an appointment time yet, just a date. He says to call him a week out and we'll work out the details. I'm not nearly as excited about getting this done as you all seem to be. But it will be nice to have this be over with once and for all.
I'm still looking for that hotel recommendation if anybody knows. Perhaps Dr. Arnkoff knows.

My experience too, but as I'm here for pain, I'm slowly becoming more excited as time goes on. :p Consider that there's a lot of satisfied customers here who got fixed, and got fixed, and those who either regret what they did or have second thoughts don't tend to stick around. I hope it works out well for you, and you end up one of the satisfied customers - since you seem to be committed enough to book an appointment. Also, I suppose, it's easy enough to end up mistaking someone trying to be supportive for someone cheerleading you - I had that experience, and talked it through later.
I hope you get what you need, and have neither regrets, nor unnecessary surgery. I also hope you describe your experience, because I'm in the market - if it proves medically necessary, I may be able to get Arnkoff to do me for a couple hundred bucks and want to know if I should look elsewhere. :p

I wish I could help with that - try Yelp?
I hope I made my motives clear. :p

When I originally made my appointment, I requested 12 noon on the day of the appointment, but he said that the appointments were always for 7am.

I read a message board called "Susan's Place" in which a poster named "dj1990" said this: "I stayed at a hotel that's a 10 minute walk away form him. It's called Spring Hills. He recommended it when I called him a few weeks ago. The hotel is nice can't complain. It was three hundred something dollars for three nights."
It appears to be the Springhill Suites by Marriott.

I checked google maps, and it does appear to be about a 10 minute walk.
