-14c here, but almost no wind, and at least SOME snow on the ground (patches of green in my lawn, but roads are pretty treacherous with frozen, bumpy ice that was melted a few days ago).

Not totally unusual for the area, but a normal winter would have us at -25 and snow piled up a foot deep around the house.

When I was in college back in the 60s in LA, had one January rain that generally flooded everywhere and even backed up so hard it pushed street manhole covers aside as the water formed littlle geysers in the street. That hard?

Rain is GOOD - you don't have to shovel rain, or scrape it off your windshield... (I get really tired of dealing with trying to get the global warming off my van w/o getting stuck in it....)
