No Weather for a month? (May 7)

The avocados are lima bean sized and the squirrel is harvesting them.

Bad year for apricots.

Boysenberries were bountiful

Oh, and I found a second patch of Paolo garlic.

Seeds and garlic pieces were planted at the same time in different areas.

A large! Black bird (?Raven?) has has been visiting my bird bath and washes fruit, rarely drinks.

High 60's high. Mid 60's low

May Gray is now June Gloom

The longer it lasts, Summer heat is avoided.

Sun sets too late.

Relief begins in 2 weeks

And we had some cold weather.

Poplar fluff is flying with might and main.

It really looks like it's snowing.

I had a huge poplar in my back yard. Every spring it looked like I had 6 inches of snow. Best thing I could do was cut it down, which I had done. Good riddance.

It's hot.

Again... after 2 days off from it. The low was 55F Saturday night, after a heat index of over 110F on Friday afternoon.

Here's Robin Williams to describe it best:

You beat us. Today was "only" 105°F (41°C). But with only 14% humidity, the heat index was the same a what the thermometer showed.

It's been over 100 degrees for a couple of days - not today. I was afraid to get into the hot-tub without a life guard. A body could pass out from the heat in the air and the 104-degree water, fall over, and drown. It is about 25 degrees cooler today. And of course the air conditioner went out yesterday. Waiting for my upstairs tenant to get home from Detroit -- he's a cooling and refrigeration guy. Getting used to sleeping naked with no sheet or blanket!

I cannot sleep uncovered. I have to have the weight of at least one blanket.

Check Out "Cooling Blanket"

and maybe "Weighted Blanket" that keeps you cooler

than a normal blanket of similar weight

THUNDER this AM.

We never have thunder on the coast.

No lightening. No rain worth mentioning

Considering the heat in the heartland

do we witness a harbinger of climate change?
