We have entered our fall dry spell. It hasn't rained since the end of the MOM here. The garden is gone, the grass is gone, the trees are wilting, and I've put the last few of the potted pepper plants out of their misery and pickled the fruits. Gonna have some killer chili this winter!

The last 2 - 3 weeks has been like

May Gray & June Gloom in late September.

Not much else to report as gray

is so uninspiring

If YOU find "it" online

IT MUST BE TRUE

I mean it would not be allowed if it weren't TRUE.

My weather is less gray but, not like

Octobers Past.

Octobers past were hot/dry with Santa Ana Winds

THUNDER & LIGHTENING

And 1" of rain.

Thunderstorms are rare near the ocean

and although more common a few miles inland

Irvine. Tustin.

I cannot remember one so "announcing" since

I moved back from Milwaukee to L.A.

And later The O.C.

I counted seconds from flash to thunder.

It cycled between 9+ to less than one.

Multiple Storm Cells or one going around between

The O.C. and Moi and Surf City USA - Huntington Beach, Ca.

Just WEATHER

or Climate too

Tis the season here for passing, pop-up cloudbursts. It's sunny one minute, then you have a breeze, then you get 1/2" or so of rain in about an hour. We desperately needed it, though. It seems I took the rain here to MN for the MOM and left it there!

By the calendar, our monsoon season is June 15 to Sept. 30. This year the weather has not consulted the calendar.

Yeah, it rained hard the night of the BBQ. We got nearly an inch of rain in about an hour. But we needed it -- my lawn is actually greening up now -- it has started raining again regularly.
