There is a change in the "air".
Warmer. Dryer.
A break from May Gray.
From high sixties to high seventies
with the lows just the same.
FEELS WARM!
I think whatever killed my backyard
plum & peach trees got into my
usually reliable front yard Royal apricot.
All Stone Fruit trees.
I suspect some infestation by one of those
micro insects in the buds.
My neighbor told me they lost their
plum tree too.
Gov't won't allow the good stuff anymore. :realpisse
Although Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma "Round up" is
still available!

May Gray has been followed by the, June Gloom
Sometimes the temperature makes it up to 71F
Boysenberries seem to love it.
Best, most productive year I can remember.

It's sunny and 93F here in IN. The heat index is approaching 100F. The UV count is like 6 or 7. I was out working in the garden, in a sun-dappled area and got burned after only a few minutes. About 2 weeks ago, we had light frost. It's getting to the point that you can't grow a garden around here anymore. Well, not unless it's in a controlled and sealed greenhouse or tunnel structure. That, and the rain has been relentless. It's about to the point of entering our usual summer drought phase, though. About the end of June, maybe sooner, the rains will stop and the grass will die, and the trees will wilt.

The Weather Underground App just said 94F, and the heat index has hit 101F!

Temperature flirted with 81F for an hour or two
That's like a 10 degree jump from yesterday
and the air 90% + a few, humidity with only
a few wisps of high uninspiring clouds.
Not Moi's desert by the sea
Bad year for apricots.
Bud mites attacking stone fruit trees. Apricot tree not happy.
Peach trees gone. Plum tree looked gone
until I found some left over SEVIN. Miracle cure!
Now illegal in California.
"They" want me to spray with soapy water

Between the false spring which prompted the peach trees to flower, and then the later freeze and light frost at the end of May, combined with the 17 year cicadas, my peach trees are just wrecked. Most of the peaches (they were loaded) fell off, and they're only about 50% leafed out. I'm afraid I'll be cutting some of the big ones next year. The good news is that the raspberries are coming on, and we've had adequate rain so far.

Had to slip across the border to my Mexican dentist Mon and Tue. 120. Ugh. In northern Nevada there was always one last June cold front that had you digging out your jacket. Lets see if we get a little relief sneaking down to us. By the calendar it is the start of summer monsoon season and last night driving back thru our fair capital there were lightning flashes.

Yes! I do believe it was some of your monsoonal
spill over I was feeling in Southern Coast California.
Temp up 10F to low 80's yet sweltering a few days ago.
No relief with a thunderstorm. Just slowly less so.
It seems Monsoon Season is 3 - 4 weeks early 2021. True?
My June Gloom ain't happening as it should.
Any cloud cover is not marine, but monsoon.
