We do it all the time here with deer Moi. Keep on tagging them so they won't stir trouble on the highway. These tags have useful radio frequency tracking signals for ease of detection.

tattooing is not collaring.

Would you rather get a tattoo or a collar. ;)

And the stress to the undomesticated animal being corralled by man.

We know messing with nature, stressed out and thereby killed condor chicks in the wild.

How do we monitor follow up "stress" after the encounter.

Oh, we call it normal behavior for the species. Or it dies.

Cat care is so easy in the winter.

They sleep.

OFBK :kittygray

spends less time outside and has not dined on hill meat for near a month.

I don't have to hike down the hill to the neighbors house to herd her home at sunset.

The 🐈 brothers curl up together.

All favor a room where they can sun bathe through the large sliding glass doors.

Speaking of Cat herding. A fav super bowl commercial of yore

My cat Wizard is the only cat that has owned me that does not help with the housework by licking the plates and bowls before I put them in the dishwasher. He does do a little light mousework. He has killed two of the little rodents.

Now and then I think of trying to make some home made cat food.

It never works as well as some of "my" chopped up steak, or chicken.

They eat those like a treat and usually leave some if I try make it a meal.

Any ideas for home made cat food, cats will like as well a "Friskies" canned?

The frozen or refrigerated meaty product for cats are really the stuff of pink slime. Tons of bone chips.

Recipe please, Transward? 🙄

BTW, no change in local cats since 2-13. They are in Winter mode.

Took the kids to the vet today, both got rabies shots, then never go out well the dog goes out on a line and then right back, so they got shots and new licenses for the next year, Nelly (the dog) was in great shape, Rupert (the cat) is starting to loose teeth and has a bit of arthritis in his front paws/wrist. The vet said he was in good shape for almost 10 and keep doing what I am doing. Then asked what I feed him, both dry food only, some treats the cat gets temptations but only a few several times a day, can food 2 or three times a month, (can or wet food is not good for them so its really a special treat). So the word is Rupert and Nelly are doing great for being 10 or there about.

The princess is 38 and I let her eat wet food daily. She's still over-weight, but not by much, Just a big ass.

Why do you say canned food is bad.

I believe Friskies has developed a good reputation with vets as good a Science Diet, etc.

9 Lives and cheap brands look bad and the cats seem to agree.

I needed to get OFBK off the carbs. It is working.

I never had a cat last over 13 years until this round.

The Siamese are said to be longer lived but, OFBK is probably a couple years older. She was an adult roaming the 'hood before the Siamese brothers were adopted.

The Siamese are 15 this May.

OFBK must be at least 17 years old. She leaps perfectly over a 2' fence to get to the cat nip. Amazing to see how agile she can move her fat butt. I have no explanation. Outside, inside, etc.

OFBK :kittygray

? 17 years old ?, caught a rat today.

It took her near an hour to consume it and she still sat by her dish at dinner time. ;)

OFBK likes to go out when I begin to get my day together around 10:30 AM and come in for a snack in a short while.

Today she followed the routine and went back outside. I ran some errands and came home to find her sitting at the family room sliding glass door, her usual station for attention.

She came inside when I opened the door and I left it open to go outside to do a quick chore.

As I returned she was sitting inside of the open sliding glass door calling me to feed her.

I found that really cute for a first time behavior. She ate and now naps in her spot on the top of the couch by the living room picture window.

Who sez cats don't communicate?

Who sez you can't teach an old cat server - Moi, - - new tricks?
