I was never on it to start with. When the symptoms starting hitting me, I crashed the diet back to nearly 0 carb intake and upped the exercise routine to what I'd call harsh levels. Dropped 40 lbs. and lost 6" off the waist, then got about 20 lbs. back in muscle buildup. I understand that not everyone can do this, however.

My last urinalysis came back "perfect".

Speaking of blood sugar, my levels for the last six days were 90, 113, 59, 106, 119 and 113. That's pretty good for me.

Yeah, those good numbers, but a lot of it depends on where you are 2 hours after you eat, vs. where you were before you ate.

I finally gave up on the rice as I had nothing too flavor it with and plain rice is so bland. My landlord also gave me 25 pounds of dry pinto beans. I put five pounds of dry beans in my crock pot, covered them with a few inches of water and cooked them for eight hours. They came out delicious especially after I add salt, pepper and sometimes garlic. When I get my next check I'll buy some jalapeños to flavor them with.

It might not be healthy but I can eat pinto beans and hamburger all month. Except for condiments it's all I have in the house till payday.

Till the 30th, its beans and burger for three meals a day. Sheesh, I feel like a cattle drover, except they rarely had the hamburger

As I may have mentioned before, there is a cute beagle living in the backyard now. He sleeps beside my front door since I pay the most attention to him.

This morning I walked out to look for the Time Warner guy and suddenly the ground gave way and I fell on the pavement. The &%$#@ beagle had dug a hole underneath my sidewalk thus undermining its integrity and it collapsed.

My left knee was badly scraped and bleeding so I walked over to the ER to have them look at it. We 70 year olds with Diabetes need to be wary of infection.

The nurses cleaned it with peroxide, applied Neosporin and bandaged it nicely. The pain has decreased from a 3 down to a 1
