Oh yes indeed I have several (like about 8) lithographs ranging from surrealist to abstract.

I'm having critical thoughts about TV procedurals (cop shows and crime shows) that have smarmy, self-important villains who are caught by equally smarmy, self-important detectives.

This is the season of sarcasm and oleaginous bombast.

I had the cravings for stuffing.

I also had a too large boneless chicken breast (the double full breast... not the single cut and trimmed breast)

But it was boneless and skinless.

So I took a 1/3 loaf of bread, two cups of chicken stock and mirepoix and stuffed the breast. (you know the old song -- don't eat bread, don't eat bread, shove it up the chicken, shove it up the chicken, eat the bird. Eat the bird)

I used a piece of parchment paper to act like skin.

Ask me in about an hour and a half if it tastes good.

The march of time follows the path of the sun and

as I type, Sydney Australia and Tokyo Japan have just wrung in Christmas Day.

Slowly, surely, the day will come to you... So:

Have a Happy Holiday.

Greet people with a smile and good cheer.

Say nice things of love to family and friends.

Be happy. This is the day made by practice and lore to be one of peace and joy.

Make it so.

G.D. Wednesday...

The electric went out for about four hours this afternoon. At least the outside temperature was in the low 30's (F) and two friends decided to visit me in the dark. So I had someone to talk to and not get nuts over if and when the power would come back on. I never believe Tinker Toy Electric ... This time it was the high winds and trees. Power came on about 3:45pm.

My water comes from a tank (no, it's not a cistern) but I keep over a dozen bottles of water ready just for this occurrence. But they had to go outside and into the woods to pee. {snarky giggle}

So I read one graphic novel titled "Echoes" by Mike Richardson (it is good). Sci-fi-ish.

I paid bills (some of which were past due last month -- naughty boy! naughty boy!)

So this is a bitch, moan, crabby whine...

OK, I was crabby.

However, I haven't seen Art Fern in years and his TEA TIME MOVIE...

It's worth the time.

Johnny Carson and Carol Wayne got away with so much on late night TV.

Tonight was blood and guts TV and the stupid movie night...

Three hours of SPARTACUS,

The finale of season 3 and the first two hours of Season 4...

It was a bloody festival of warrior roman slaves battling Roman legions with swords.

In the finale of season 3, Illythia and Lucretia have a final confrontation during childbirth. The House and Ludus of Satiates finally gets a male child. What can I say. Illythia is the bitch who slit Seppia's throat and made love to her unfaithful husband in Seppia's blood.

Season 4 opens with that scene of Spartacus on the jumping horse and brandishing a sword. It ends with a double beheading.

It is on the list of THINGS NOT TO WATCH AT DINNER TIME...

And then I'd never seen:

GRIND HOUSE -- PLANET TERROR

But I had seen the its partner DEATH PROOF.

Freddy Rodriguez made a pair of B-Movies in the grand tradition of the worst of the B-Movies.

PLANET TERROR has the gal with the machine gun leg (an amputee accident) and the zombies with flesh oozing and falling from their bodies...

One of the climactic scenes is a rapist who advances on a helpless stripper and his junk falls off into a bloody pool on the floor.

And a chopped, badass, blown-out motorcycle that might actually be seen moving. (nah!)

Not much happens during the "missing reel" but the Barbecue RoadHouse burns and zombies attack.

{give him the gun, TOLO. Give him all the guns!}

This is definitely on the list of THINGS NOT TO WATCH AT DINNER TIME...

Todays concert was actually the first of my concert series thanks to an unfortunate musicians strike.

It was Beethoven's 7th (always fun) and And the Sibelius 5th which is on of the most beautiful pieces of music written:

This little excerpt of the Sibelius 5th begins with the scherzo in the 3rd movement

Listen and about 1 min 18 seconds into it, the swan theme rises from the french horns...

It is a series of rising fifths that represents a flock of swans passing above us across the sky.

And above these fifths, Sibelius builds a song in the woodwinds that is sweet and equally beautiful.

I was so enjoying the entire 5th symphony that when I heard this theme, my only thoughts were -- this music is going to end too soon. It was so beautiful I wanted it to be more than the 35 or 36 minutes in length.

Most people know Sibelius for his composition FINLANDIA but for sheer beauty the 5th symphony is much better.

Sadly, Mary Tyler Moore passed away today.

I enjoyed her in both sitcoms and her various movies.

A husband and wife were sitting in church, when the wife leaned over towards her husband and says what should I do I just let a silent fart? Husband replies change your batteries in your hearing aids.
