My first jalapeno was 4", but it was disappointing from a heat standpoint.

Weather! Weather! Incredibly strange weather! Saturday, our temperature hit a new record high with150 years of records. It hit 106°F (42°C). Saturday night we had a massive DRY thunderstorm move over the top of us. The weather report indicated that, over the 6 counties it covered, more that 2,000 lightning strikes hit the ground. There were only seconds between lightning flashes. Over 40 fires were set. There are large ones still burning both east and west of us. We’re getting lots of smoke and lots of ash fall right now. Fortunately, we’re in a safe zone in the middle of town, four blocks from the fire station and three blocks from the largest hospital in the county. Daughter is not so lucky. The current evacuation zone comes to within about a thousand feet of her house, though the wind is now moving the other way. She’s packing up, just in case....

We had a spell of about 100 which has broken with monsoon storms and temps edging about 10 degrees lower.

Never been to a nudist colony but it’s on my bucket list

We had a passing rain shower here today. It's been dry since the end of July. I don't think we had more than a drizzle in August. This one didn't even get the ground wet, just the grass. Figure we'll have "buckshot beans" for crops this season, too. Corn has been firing up (dying) for about three weeks now as well. The gardens are pretty much gone, except for the container plants. Worst year I've ever had for tomatoes. Too many upper 90F days and not enough rain.
