The ultrasound and CT scan are done and in the books. Both techs at the clinic said my Uro should have the rests sometime tomorrow afternoon. The ultrasound was first and was told it would take 15 minutes. She scanned, scanned and scanned taking numerous screen shots on the right side. It seemed like she took a hundred pictures. At that point we were at 20 minutes and she then started the left side. She scanned and took maybe like 30 pictures on that side. Something is up on the right side but of course she couldn't say at all as to what she saw.

The CT scan was done and over in less than 5 minutes.

Now the wait begins to see what the doctor says is going on down there and have some answers.

Hey @Philcheck,r

I am not a doctor. But, my advice is to be optimistic. Today, many hospitals contract with radiologists that are in other cities - some even work from home. So, you will have the results quickly.

I'm trying to be optimistic. Called the Uro for the results and told by the nurse the doctor is on vacation until late next week. However they would send her a message and probably wouldn't hear anything back until Monday at the earliest. The Uro told me in the initial appt that if the tests showed it was an inguinal hernia she would call me, inform me of that, and refer me to the appropriate surgeon for surgery.

About an hour after that call the nurse calls me back..... She can't tell me the test results but the Uro wants to do a virtual appointment by phone ASAP while she is on vacation to discuss my treatment options. I try to get a hint from the nurse as to why the Uro who is on vacation is pushing this fast. The nurse is stone cold and says the Uro will discuss it all with me in a virtual appointment thank you Covid.

Got the virtual appointment with the Uro scheduled for early next week while she is still on vacation. Hmmm so if it was just a hernia I'm sure she would have told her nurse to refer me to the surgeon as we discussed. Reading between all the lines and what and how it is happening something is amiss with the right testicle or the associated structures. See what the virtual appointment brings

Thanks for the update. Obviously, something serious enough is going on that she wants to talk to you while on vacation.

This is so much easier to say than it is to do - don't future trip on what is wrong. There are so many things she might want to say.

In the first appt after discussing my history seemed very caring about my long history and trying to solve it. I'm hoping she is just one of those docs that gets my situation and just wants to resolve this quickly as why she is willing to do this on her vacation. There are so many things this could be and many are not serious at all let alone life threatening. Time for a deep breath and wait out the next four days until the virtual visit. Breath.....

I was strung along for four days awaiting the test result that were in last Friday. Had my virtual visit with the Uro. All I can say is what a waste of my time and effort. She said it showed a small amount of issues and none of them arise to the level needing treatment. WTF?

I was already not feeling well due to the pain and being nauseated from the feeling being kicked down there. I told her of that. I cannot keep working and functioning like this and need some relief some how some way. She then said she would refer me to another doc in the practice to see if I'm a candidate for a spermatic cord nerve block but doubts it would do any good at.

I ended up leaving work early again and if this keeps up I will not have a job by the end of the year. I was so nauseated. Got home and working on trying to find an attorney that's worth a crap to file for Social Security Disability. I can't keep working or functioning like this. I have hit a wall and done.

I know from experience that doctors can be beyond frustrating.

In fact, very often their goals are not the same as their patient's goals.

Now is a time to regroup. Do you have someone you trust to act as an advocate for you? Just a family member or a friend to help you keep track of things and to help you deal with the maze of tests and doctors?

It's never easy dealing with doctors. They do their exams, blood work, scans and if they don't see something obvious they assume you'll be thrilled with the "good news" that all is ok with you. When in fact, that "good news" can be devastating because you know there is something wrong.

I am not sure what the next step is. But, it should include getting a copy of the scans, including the disk with the images and seeing another uro. Yes, it sucks to have to start over. But, not all doctors are the same and the best outcome could be a doctor that stops the pain.

Keep us informed.

Pain levels over the last two days have dropped off...hmmm maybe because I'm not working? Being thankful for the relief! Well the Uro said that I would be called by the end of this week to schedule an appt for the consult on the nerve block. Haven't heard a thing and the weekend is on. So many promises and not delivering at all.

Been trying to crawl out of the dark cave I was thrown into since I had high expectations to finally maybe get some relief. Set my own sights way too high once again.

Spent the day doing yard projects in some beautiful fall weather that has helped lift my spirits. Can't push those projects too hard or fast or that would bring an end to my wonderful pain holiday.

Been over a week and still haven't heard back from the Uro despite a call to them about the referral for a nerve block. I'm done with this clinic since they are showing they do NOT want to help my situation. I even have reached out and emailed doctors that wrote medical journals about treating similiar Orchailagia as mine. No response as of yet either. Ugh. What can one do? The so call caring Uro mentioned that if the nerve block wasn't right for me she would refer me for pelvic floor physical therapy. Since they won't return my call that will not happen either as an option.

I see why so many turn to options outside the medical field. Wish I could find a doc to understand my issue. Tired of the rug being ripped out from under me.
